PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE - Mr. Riehle stated that they cleaned out the road ditch by Susan <br /> Niemoth' s property and replaced a pipe and to help with the flooding. There is someone that is <br /> trying to build a home in that area and they are in the low area. <br /> Steve stated that he received the report from the State of Nebraska regarding the road safety <br /> audit and there were 11 signs that were corrected and there were some others that needed <br /> corrected for site distance. They now have a policy when they cut down a tree they also clear <br /> the vegetation. <br /> The safety committee met with Tim Baxter from NIRMA and then they will meet with all of the <br /> employees November 17th and go over the recommended procedures. NIRMA needs to <br /> approve the safety committee and the individuals have to be approved by the union. He also <br /> stated that they received some information from NEMA and they are requesting more <br /> information. The reimbursements may be coming soon. <br /> The Nebraska Department of Roads has completed the fracture critical bridge inspection and <br /> there is one bridge that needs replaced. With the county bridge match program it may help. <br /> Discussion was held on the 10 hour days and concern was expressed on the expanded hours <br /> and the issue of holiday pay during that time. They are still working Fridays to get the road work <br /> done. The repairs from the March flood are all done and they are working on the list of projects <br /> he also stated that with the 10 hour days they are able to get more work done. <br /> 13. FACILITIES — B) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO SET BID OPENING FOR STEP <br /> REPAIR AT THE FEDERAL BUILDING (11/12/2019 at 9:45 a.m. with bids due 11/8/2019 at <br /> 5:00 p.m.) Mr. Humphrey stated the steps need to be repaired and he ask if they want to use <br /> the limestone steps of concrete. Discussion was held and it was suggested to bid it both ways. <br /> Loran stated that everyone is busy now and ask if the board would like to wait until next spring. <br /> They could bid it now and schedule it for next spring. <br /> Richardson stated she would like to bid it now. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated he will have to send a letter to the national Park Service for the approval <br /> of the repairs. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Quandt seconded to set the bid opening for November 12 2019 <br /> at 9:45 a.m. with bids due November 8, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Peterson Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO SET BID OPENING FOR SKID STEER - <br /> discussion was held and they currently have a Bobcat skid steer that they are leasing. <br /> Bredthauer made a motion and Quandt seconded to purchase the Bobcat skid steer for the <br /> building & grounds department from the state bid price. <br /> Quandt ask when the lease is up and Loran stated at the end of October. The cost is <br /> $44,546.44 and Mr. Humphrey stated that he did not budget any dollars for the purchase and he <br /> 8 <br />
