Dan Hostler era and this was included in the surplus equipment policy that was adopted in <br /> February 2019. <br /> Steve stated that sometimes they have surplus blades, bridge materials timber or guard rails <br /> and a farmer my come in a d request to buy an item. So the resolution states the value has to <br /> be less than $500.00 then it can be sold. Steve stated they cannot sell any rolling stock like <br /> that. <br /> 9 C PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — Steve Riehle stated that they have been trying to do some <br /> patching but is has been delayed by the storms. They want to get Stolley Park road patched <br /> before the state fair. And then move to Schimmer Drive west of US highway 34/281 so they can <br /> get it done before Husker Harvest Days. <br /> Wood River Road —J.I.L Asphalt finished the diamond grinding and it is much better. They still <br /> need to seal it and go a profilograph run to see if it is smooth and if there should be any <br /> penalties on the project. 1R Road in Cairo the asphalt is done the east mile needs to be rolled <br /> cross-ways or diamond grinding and J.I.L. is awaiting a profilograph run on that road. <br /> Tree Clean up— Steve stated the last day for the tree cleanup is August 23 and they have <br /> picked up the debris in the rural subdivisions and want to be finished by Labor Day. Some of <br /> the areas will be addressed later in the fall so they can work on the asphalt patching, culverts <br /> and drainage concerns. <br /> Steve stated the tire collection is to be held on September 14th and he has submitted the <br /> application for the 2020 tire grant this grant will be awarded this fall. <br /> Quandt noted a stop sign that is not at the right height and Steve stated he will check on that. <br /> Gary also stated that Stuhr Museum has a lot of tree debris and he ask if Steve could pick up <br /> some of their trees. Stuhr is different they have a board to address issues and it is up to them <br /> and they could reimburse the county. <br /> Richardson noted a letter to the editor regarding the Road Department and also there was a <br /> letter from Doug Lanfear noting the good job they have been doing with all of the flooding. <br /> Hartman road department is in a good place there were concerns in the past they're going down <br /> the right road now. <br /> Lancaster stated she appreciates the better work environment and we do not want to <br /> discourage employees to voice their concerns they can contact the director or come to the <br /> county board. They can go to the department head in writing first. <br /> Bredthauer expressed concern Highway 2 and Engleman Road this is in her district and she <br /> receives calls on it once a week. There is a box culvert that needs to be fixed. She is <br /> concerned that this is a safety hazard it is high and there are no sides on the culvert it needs to <br /> be fixed. <br /> Steve stated that they may need to look at concrete or asphalt for this road. They would have to <br /> go out for bids for asphalt. <br /> Pam has been brought to the county board and would like to how they are proceeding with this. <br /> 12 <br />
