Steve stated that they are addressing a priority list on the culverts and the drainage concerns. <br /> He stated that they continue to put gravel on the roads and some of them have had gravel put <br /> on 3 times. They are working on a map of what roads have been gaveled and what roads are <br /> left. <br /> 10 APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBER TO ROAD DEPARTMENT SAFETY COMMITTEE - <br /> Lancaster appointed Karen Bredthauer to the Road Department Safety Committee. Mr. <br /> Hartman stated that he will be attending all of the meetings also. <br /> 11. DISCUSS & TAKE ACTION ON REPLACEMENT OF WEED BOARD MEMBER — Lancaster <br /> expressed sympathy to the Wells family this was a tragic accident. Mr. Wells was a member of <br /> the Weed Board and the board will need to make a new appointment. They will run an ad in the <br /> paper and she also encouraged the board members to reach out to see if they know of anyone <br /> that is interested. This will be a rural representative. This term will expire January 7, 2021. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to advertise for the unexpired weed board <br /> member term and accept applications. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, <br /> Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> 14. ELECTION COMMISSIONER—DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING <br /> POLITICAL SUBDIVISION BOUNDARIES Tracy Overstreet stated that this is a form letter that <br /> is to be sent out according to state statute. She needs to give people notice. The city has some <br /> annexation and some of the changes have already been made. It would not affect the Airport or <br /> the Weed Board because they are elected county wide. The county supervisor's districts will be <br /> addressed after the 2020 census. <br /> Tracy noted that certain areas in the northwest have grown substantially and they will need to <br /> make changes. Some of the precincts have added 200 to 400 additional voters and the <br /> demographics have also changed. She stated that redistricting is a science and an art and <br /> there will be changes in Hall County they may be able to reduce the number of precincts. She <br /> stated that they have finished the audit with GIS and there may be fewer precincts. She stated <br /> that there is no action needed. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS — Chair Lancaster called for any reports <br /> Richardson stated the Humane Society is having a fund raiser once of month and there is one <br /> on September 7th and she has tickets. Lancaster steed she has had positive comments. <br /> Quandt stated he attend the Mid Plains Center meeting and they are in good financial condition <br /> Cory Edwards is doing a good job <br /> Lancaster stated that there was an executive session regarding safety issue and the need for <br /> Courthouse security staff. It was not addressed and there was a request for 2 part-time security <br /> staff. This is a safety issue and could be addressed at the Thursday special budget meeting on <br /> Thursday, August 22. She thanked Sarah and Sheriff Conrad for their assistance on the safety <br /> issues. <br /> Richardson state the libray agreement went to the library board Monday night and they have not <br /> heard of they accepted the proposal. <br /> Hartman stated that he has been at the Road Department every day and the change have been <br /> a good move. People are comfortable and they are on the right tract. <br /> 13 <br />
