Lancaster ask if Theresa would have a problem if the funds came from the county. Dana gives <br /> a detailed report on how the dollars are spent. Theresa said they could give report of how the <br /> addition $70,000.00 are spent. <br /> Casey ask if all of the other agencies would have to come and ask for funds these dollars are <br /> for the senior in Hall County <br /> Peterson noted it appears if the county retained the dollars for the Grand Generation Center <br /> they would be shorting the Doniphan and Wood River Centers and all of the other agencies. . <br /> Lancaster the dollars would go to Senior Citizens for their services what the county decided to <br /> give to MAAA could go to the other programs in Cairo Wood River and Doniphan. <br /> 5. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON 19-20 BUDGET REQUEST FOR MW <br /> Richardson this is not a concern to other counties it seems to be a fight with MAAA. In the <br /> essence of time this could continue to go on, Richardson made a motion and Peterson <br /> seconded that the $20,000.00 match dollars should remain with MAAA as it has been in the <br /> past and reevaluate it in the future. <br /> Quandt questioned if the previous motion should be rescinded and Sarah Carstensen stated <br /> that the board could amend or rescind the other motion. Discussion was held on the dollar <br /> amount and Richardson stated it was set at $20,000 on the previous motion. <br /> Richardson amended the previous motion and Peterson seconded. The vote on the motion was <br /> taken. Hartman, Hurst, Peterson and Richardson voted yes and Bredthauer, Lancaster and <br /> Quandt vote no. Motion carried. <br /> Hartman mentioned that Mr. Ryker that was here regarding the homestead exemption needs <br /> some help and he challenged the County Board to donate some dollars to the gentleman He <br /> gave a him a check for $100.00. <br /> 9. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON REGENCY RETIREMENT MEALS ON WHEELS — <br /> Quandt expressed concern that they could not receive the meals Peg Marsh and <br /> Jack Wilson 803 Alpha #109 Grand Island were present and expressed concern that the meals <br /> at Regency were shut off and he does not know what the real problem was that they took that <br /> action. There are excuses rather than reasons. What is the real reason and he hopes that the <br /> board would help him to find out why that was done. He would like the real reason. Peg Marsh <br /> stated that there are 25 residents and 6 did not qualify for the meals and concern why they are <br /> not feeding veterans. <br /> Lancaster sits on the Senior Citizen Board and she noted that they value veterans this has to do <br /> with senior citizens. She ask Theresa to address this issue. Theresa stated that in the past <br /> they were providing the food and Ms. Smith would pick it up and serve it to the residents. But <br /> there are specific polies that have to be followed and after reviewing what they were doing it did <br /> not follow the policy. So they made them a congregate site but there are specific things that <br /> have to be followed. <br /> • It has to be open to the public <br /> • There has to be specific programing during the lunch <br /> • Health and nutritional clinic programs have to be held <br /> 5 <br />
