Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to allow the part time position to move to full
time. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt and Richardson all voted yes
and none voted no. Motion carried.
20 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CLASSIFICATION COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDATIONS — County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated the Classification
committee met June 5 regarding some issues on the salaries and ranges. This happened last
year when some change were requested and approved by the County Board but did not go to
the classification committee to match the requested salaries with the steps and the ranges.
The County Attorney had updated a job description to allow a 30 minute window when they are
on call 24/7. They had also ask to develop the job description for division chief's and discussed
he opportunity to have job description for a law clerk. They would like to come back with these
requests.
Corrections mental health provider—this position was at range 18 and they are requesting it to
be at Range 20. The corrections sergeants moved to Range 20 and it was approved through
the budget and need to be on the same range
Corrections maintenance —this was on range 12 this is different than a regular maintenance
positon they are corrections officers with salaries from $21.41 to $27.92. This was approved
through the budget process and would be between range 14 and range 15 so the range and
steps will need to be added
The Lieutenant was approved the classification committee and the board approved it also. The
assistant director position was approved through the budget process it would be at $35.08 to
$45.77 so this would be between Deputy County 1 and engineer. And County engineer and are
recommending adding this into the chart.
The county sheriff is also requesting to move the office manage from 12 to 16 and in line with
executive administrative assistant and sheriff is requesting to move the office manager to Range
16 also. That would make that positon in line with the other office manager position in the
county.
Peterson ask if the job descriptions reflect all of the duties that a person is doing and the
descriptions have been updated.
Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to update the ranges and put them in order
and to approve the recommendations. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson,
Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
17. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON WINDOWS 10 CONVERSION - Mr. Peterson
stated that the committee met and there is only one option ad this to replace the hardware. He
distributed information regarding the possible option. He summarized the options and it would
buy another year but any computer access justice of Spillman would he to be replaced and do
the purchase. They could upgrade the existing desktops to windows 10 and it may work but
windows 10 has stopped being supported d in 2018 and they release a revision every 6 months
and have to install these on the desktops. It still won't get very far down the rod because it will
not be supported. They need the support to make sure it will work the other option is the most
expensive to purchase licenses and approve new desktops with a 3 year warrantee and through
2024 and then would have to replace them again.
11
