DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING BUDGET SALARY FOR ELECTED <br /> OFFICIALS DEPUTIES SALARIES A PERCENTAGE OF THE ELECTED OFFICIAL - County <br /> Clerk Marla Conley stated that during budget work it was realized that the Clerk of the District <br /> Court Deputy and the County Clerk's Deputy's salaries dropped below the statutory requirement <br /> of 65% of the elected official's salary. <br /> When the 2015 classification study was competed the deputies received an 11% increase for <br /> the 3 years then were to receive the cola increase. This did not keep them at the 65%. So it <br /> was discussed at the classification committee meeting and then brought to the county board, <br /> the County Board sets the salaries. <br /> Valorie Bendixen stated that in 2010 all of the deputies were receive 70% of the elected official's <br /> salary. She feels it should be the same for all 4 deputies. <br /> Lancaster stated she contacted NACO and they only noted the minimum 65%. The County <br /> Board has the right to set the salary. <br /> Discussion was held and the board agreed that they should be all set at the same percentage <br /> rate. The board has some options. The County Assessor has a combined office so her salary <br /> is set higher. <br /> Peterson if do at a percentage of the elected official then there is no cola increase as the <br /> officials get an increase. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Richardson raise the salary to the level of the highest percentage <br /> of the deputies have to make them all the same percentage rate.
