Lancaster stated she had a call from Scott Davidson regarding the drainage ditch. Steve stated they need to look at a big drainage project. They can address some of the small projects but they need to look at the statues and look at a big overall drainage project. Hartman noted that the ditches are full of water and cannot run they need to keep the water moving. Quandt noted that on Wetzel drive they have petitions to get a street improvement district started. Bredthauer ask if the culverts have been cleaned out. Steve stated the culvert was installed but there may need to be another driveway that needs a culvert. Steve noted that they are fixing the soft spots with sand and gravel and have worked on Wood River Road Gunther Road and will be working on Cameron and Old Military Road tomorrow. Held a Board of Corrections meeting 14 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON SUBMITTING BUDGET REQUEST FOR SAFETY PROJECTS AS A RESULT OF THE NIRMA SAFETY AUDIT— Lancaster stated that since the NIRMA safety audit she talked to Mr. Humphrey and he will submit a request on the safety upgrades. This will be a one time expense and they do not want to budget for it and reflect an increase because of the safety issues. He has sent out request to the departments for building alterations like safety glass. They will not know how much will be involved. If the department has dollars to put toward these projects they can do so. He has talked to the departments that have made these requests. Bredthauer noted how Doris Smith set dollars back to do the safety glass in the motor vehicle department. She also stated that they can make request to NIRMA for safety funds. 15. COUNTY SHERIFF — DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING MOVING PART-TIME POSITION TO FULL TIME POSITION — Sheriff Conrad is requesting to move one part time to full time. They have 200 warrants every month and have to do background checks. They have 3 days to get the done. They also have to follow the NCIC rules and also do the protection orders. With the early release of inmates and putting them on probation it is hitting the sheriff with more records requests in 2016 hey had 231 the first year and now it is up to 600, they also have the title inspections, handgun permits, and sex offender registry. This positon will add 12 1/2 hours to make it full time it will be a current county employee. 10
