He is requested to waive the bidding process and approve the purchase of$24,350.60 of <br /> crushed concrete from Nitro Construction. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to approve the purchase of the crushed <br /> concrete for $24,350.60. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and <br /> Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 14. PUBLIC WORKS —B) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF THE <br /> PURCHASE OF $7,048.60 OF QUARTZ ROCK FROM DOBESH LAND LEVELING, LLC. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to approve the purchase of$7,048.60 of quartz <br /> rock from Dobesh Land Leveling. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson <br /> and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> C) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO PURCHASE CRACK SEALER <br /> USING STATE OF NEBRASKA CONTRACT 14429OC — Steve stated that Hall County uses <br /> rubberized asphalt to seal the cracks in the pavement as preventive maintenance. He is <br /> requested to approve the purchase of the crack sealer from Logan Contractors supply off of the <br /> state bid for $5,035.00. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to approve the purchase of the crack sealer. <br /> Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> D DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF APPROVE TO PURCHASE TRAFFIC MARKING <br /> PAINT USING STATE OF NEBRASKA CONTRACT 14712OC — Steve stated that Hall County <br /> shares a paint stripping truck with Adams and Buffalo Count. And he is requesting to purchase <br /> the traffic marking paid using the state contract 14712OC from Vogel Paint & Wax Company <br /> from Orange City Iowa. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Quandt seconded to purchase the traffic marking paint using the <br /> state bid. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> E) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CHANGING BID SPECIFICATIONS <br /> FOR COMPACT TRACK LOADER Steve stated that he had a company come to him requesting <br /> to submit a lease unit. The board had decided not to lease the units and purchase them. Steve <br /> stated he would have to amend the specs in order to accept this. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to not amend the specification for a leased <br /> machine. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Quandt questioned if the specs for the equipment are for a basic machine. Steve stated that the <br /> horse power minimum and weight are the same so they can equalize the bids and the same <br /> type of machine will be bid. There may be some exceptions and they will have to look at them. <br /> They will not award the bid right away because he will have to consider the options. <br /> Quandt questioned if the attachments are not the same brand could they be used on any other <br /> machine. Steve stated that they make sure the attachments can be used on other machines. <br /> There may be a different electrical connection or hydraulic connection but they can use <br /> adapters to make them work. <br /> 8 <br />
