Peterson expressed concern on how this transition would work in the middle of a budget year. It <br /> would make more sense starting July 1st, He also questioned how you would notify people. <br /> Loran explained the process for the conditional use permitting, there is a lot of paperwork and it <br /> is challenging when the properties are sold. The conditional use permits stay with the property. <br /> Quandt stated that this will free up Loran's time. <br /> Quandt stated that the rural areas wanted the building inspector and it has been 3 years and <br /> worked well for the communities. He stated he voted against the elimination of the building <br /> inspector. Now with a single place it will work well. <br /> Discussion was held on the dollars that will be saved they would like to know the dollar amount. <br /> Bredthauer stated about $4,000.00 to $5,000.00 a year and it's not the money it will be under <br /> one roof. <br /> Hartman noted there is not a lot of difference between the zoning, building permits and <br /> conditional use they are together. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and <br /> Peterson all voted yes and none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried. <br /> Discussion was held on a start date they will come back in two weeks. <br /> D) DISCUSS & APPROVE TIME LINE FOR HIRING ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE <br /> COUNTY BOARD — Lancaster provided information to the board members and suggested that <br /> the ad for employment be ran March 23 and 24 and March 30 and 31. The board members <br /> could review the applications as they are received. She will put the application in a folder in the <br /> board room so the board member will have access to review them. On April 16 they can <br /> determine who to interview and the board can determine the finalists. Then the week of April <br /> 22nd they can schedule a special meeting to do the interviews. Discussion was held to have <br /> Stacey also look at the applications. Lancaster stated she planned to do so. Hartman <br /> suggested that she come back but she can make some recommendations. <br /> C) DISCUSS & APPROVE ADVERTISING FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE <br /> COUNTY BOARD —discussion was held on the date for the interviews. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the time line and to schedule the <br /> interviews for April 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and <br /> Peterson all voted yes and none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried. <br /> 27. DISCUSS AND APPROVE NAMING INTERIM KENO ADMINISTRATOR AND ADDING <br /> SAME INDIVIDUAL TO HOME FEDERAL HALL COUNTY KENO BANK ACCOUNTS - <br /> Lancaster stated that they need to name a interim keno administrator and it was suggested that <br /> Ms. Lancaster do this but she expressed concern that as chair of the board she oversees the <br /> audit and that could be a conflict. She will discuss this with Brad. She suggested that someone <br /> from county attorney could do this. She questioned if the board would allow her to appoint <br /> someone. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to allow the Chair to appoint a keno <br /> administrator. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried. <br /> 12 <br />
