D) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING ASBESTOS REMOVAL AT COURT <br /> HOUSE - Mr. Humphrey stated that there is some asbestos tile that is coming loose on the third <br /> floor and could cause a trip hazard. He is asking for direction to remove the old tile clean up <br /> mastic and he is asking what should use to replace it. The tile has asbestos in it and he <br /> contacted O'Neill regarding the removal. They have $5000.00 budgeted to do the project. They <br /> will have to remove the flooring to do the interior step replacement. <br /> Quandt expressed concern on the cost of the bid on the stair replacement it may be a moot <br /> point. Loran stated that it is not a moot point the tile has to be repaired. <br /> Lancaster suggested coming back with a plan and the possible cost. <br /> E) SOCIAL SERVICES ADA ENTRANCE PRELIMINARY PLANS - Mr. Humphrey provided the <br /> board with a copy of the proposed plan for the ADA entrance. Mr. Frederick is finalizing the <br /> plans. The city has reviewed this and is pleased with the plan for the parking. He will come <br /> back in two weeks to set the bid date. <br /> F. VSO drinking fountain Loran state he would like to move the current water fountain to <br /> Building & Grounds and install a new fountain in the VSO office. They have dollars in the <br /> budget. They will purchase the unit and then have it installed. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Peterson seconded to move the VSO drinking fountain to Building & <br /> Grounds and replace it. <br /> Bredthauer ask about the cost and Loran stated they will buy it outright because it is cheaper <br /> and have it installed. <br /> The vote was taken. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt and Richardson <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> G) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO REMOVE THE SYCAMORE TREE EAST OF THE <br /> ADMINISTRATION BUILDING —Quandt stated that there are 2 tress at the DHHS building and <br /> the sycamore tree on the east side of the Administration building that need to be removed. He <br /> expressed concern that the sycamore tree is raising the concrete. It could be removed and <br /> placed in the middle of the grass area and move the bench to the center. . <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to request informal sealed bids for the <br /> removal of the 3 trees. <br /> Richardson stated the trees by the DHHS Building do not need to be replaced and she <br /> questioned why it was necessary to remove the sycamore tree. Mr. Humphrey stated that he <br /> does not want to remove the sycamore tree it has been there a long time and he does not like <br /> removing mature trees. It is not causing a problem Richardson stated that it will be several <br /> thousand dollars to remove the large sycamore tree. <br /> Hartman questioned if it was breaking up the concrete and Mr. Humphrey stated that they <br /> removed some of the roots so it is not. <br /> The vote on the motion to request informal bids was taken. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster and Quandt voted yes and Richardson voted no. Motion carried <br /> 11 <br />
