Each legislative session there is a thought process to reduce inheritance tax. <br /> Hall County uses the inheritance for 1 time projects noted the 2000 computers used those funds <br /> and then the county backed off of the inheritance dollars and used inheritance dollars for the jail <br /> and then paid it back. Jane do we use inheritance for property tax relief those are keno dollars. <br /> UPDATE ON COURTHOUSE WINDOWS—Mr. Humphrey stated that Mid Plains recently rented <br /> a lift to measure the windows and they still need more measurements. Lancaster Hall County has not had good experience with the paunch. Discussion <br /> was held and Dick, Karen and Pam will be looking at the site. Hornady Manufacturing and Farm <br /> Progress are also interested parties and would like to come to the county board. Ron is meeting <br /> with Andrew tomorrow Jan check her schedule also. Hartman noted that the county has had a <br /> bad experience in the past regarding the paunch he is using the bad part also. There will have <br /> to be a public hearing regarding this issue. He also noted that the parking stalls on the south half of the parking lot <br /> are very tight they are 24 ft. the other on the south side for larger vehicles so they are proposing <br /> to mark theses stalls for smaller compact cars. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON THE COUNTY PURCHASING ACT POLICY— <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen sent out the draft policy and has now has also <br /> included the surplus property portion of the policy. She noted section #4 that addresses the sale <br /> of surplus personal property that has a value of less than $2,500.00 and mobile equipment with <br /> a value of less than $5,000.00.
