Mr. Riehle noted that
Engleman Road and Old Potash highway are ahead of Airport Road.
Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to decline the agreement with the City of
Grand Island. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt Peterson and Richardson all
voted yes and none voted no. They have been doing this since 2006 and it has been very successful. They did not
hold the event in 2013 or 2018 so other applicants could have an opportunity. The deadline is
February 13th and it will be awarded in May. If the county did not get the grant then he could
apply again July 1 and that grant would be awarded in August 2019. It covers the tire disposal
and up to $000.00 for advertising and labor costs. This grant is filed electronically. This was acquired for a bridge project and a
portion of the parcel is excess or surplus ground. Steve will work with Sarah Carstensen to
declare it surplus property and then come back to the board. This may only be 1 acre.
Quandt ask where it is and Steve said it is on White Cloud Road between Schaupsville Road
and 110th Road. Bredthauer ask if it had been subdivided or if it was big enough a house could
be built there. Mr. Nabity said a house could be built on it because it was separately surveyed
he also recommended the county plat the property as a subdivision in conjunction with the sale.
DISCUSSION ON THE SKID STEER LEASE -this lease ends in February so Mr. Riehle is
considering the options. He will look at the cops for an outright purchase or to continue the
lease and bring back information to the February 19th meeting.
8
