Peterson questioned how often this happens? If everyone was an alternate they would have to <br /> be listed and would that be a problem with the organization. Lancaster aid all members would <br /> be any board member. <br /> Bredthauer noted issues with the safety committee when the chair of the committee did not <br /> attend. <br /> Lancaster noted that she wants to see the rest of board share the responsibilities. The board <br /> has been divided and they need to work together. <br /> Richardson withdrew her motion. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded on the outside committees the representative <br /> can choose another board member to attend the meeting in their place. Any Hall County <br /> Supervisor can act as an alternate. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt <br /> and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Lancaster stated she will work on the list and get it to Bonnie. <br /> 13. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING RESOLUTION ON HALL COUNTY <br /> SICK VACATION FUND AND COUNTY HANDBOOK— Information from the County Handbook <br /> and the Sick/Vacation Liability fund resolution was provided to the board members. There is <br /> different working on the resolution and County Clerk Conley requested clarification from the <br /> Board. <br /> Discussion was held and Hurst stated it was only fair that they should be paid. <br /> Peterson noted that they are not retiring as stated in the handbook. As elected officials they do <br /> not accrue vacation or sick leave. The handbook states they are to be paid out upon retirement. <br /> He agrees on the vacation payout. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Peterson seconded to approve the vacation pay out for the Marty <br /> Klein and Rick Conrad. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt and <br /> Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Hurst questioned if it could it be rolled over but elected officials do not accrue vacation or sick <br /> leave. <br /> Mr. Peterson stated that his wife is a state employee and she had to retire in order to receive <br /> the sick leave. He looked at the state employees hand book. He suggested that a committee <br /> could review this. They need to make the right decision. Discussion was held and it was <br /> suggested to contact Pam Bourne with NIRMA. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Quandt seconded to form an ad hoc committee to address the <br /> sick leave pay out. Bredthauer, Hartman, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt and Richardson all <br /> voted yes and Hurst voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 20. APPROVE EARLY CLAIMS —THE claim were red into the record. Quandt made a motion <br /> and Richardson seconded to approve the early claims. Bredthauer, Hartman, Lancaster, <br /> Peterson, Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and Hurst voted no.
