COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS — Bredthauer reported that she attended the <br /> Regional Planning Commission meeting and there is a proposal for a roundabout at Five Points <br /> and on Potash Highway by Perkins and Hornady and Westside Lanes. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Mr. Peterson suggested having a section in the employee <br /> handbook defining an employee and an elected official. <br /> Sarah Carstensen stated that she could work on this. County Attorney Marty Klein stated that <br /> he would give Sarah a vote of confidence to work on the negotiations, and the TERC issues. <br /> He stated that he will be at the meetings on Tuesdays to see what goes one. He thanked the <br /> board for the consideration regarding the vacation pay out. <br /> County Sheriff Rick Conrad addressed the board and thanked them for the vacation pay out. <br /> He also noted that the cost on the union negotiations is high and he hopes to develop relations <br /> that will decrease those costs. Sheriff Conrad suggested that they might consider creating a <br /> sick leave pool for the employees that have hours. He stated that he does not mind attending <br /> the meetings rather than take deputies off the street. Discussion was held on the railroad <br /> crossing issue and he stated he will make some phone calls. <br /> The board member will all attend the quarterly jail tour. <br /> 1:31 p.m. The meeting was recessed to attend the jail tour.
