Steve stated that will request bids for the materials only and they have dollars budgeted for <br /> engineering cost. He also noted that there are some items in the agreement that will be <br /> removed because the road department will cover them. If the cost goes over he will have other <br /> dollars to cover it. He will come back with the dollar amount. <br /> Bredthauer withdrew her motion. <br /> Peterson how it is determined when it is good to go out for bids or use an engineering contract. <br /> Steve stated there are different ways to address the bids and he uses Olsson's' because of their <br /> experience and they can sometime be build more economical. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the agreement with Olsson <br /> Associated for project C40 (372). Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Quandt and <br /> Richardson all voted yes and Hartman voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Riehle will come back with the exact costs in the agreement if it goes over he will find the <br /> dollars in his budget from another line item the gravel or the asphalt projects. <br /> C) UPDATE ON ROADS -The e mail addressed a voicemail that the road department received <br /> regarding an area near 190th and Airport Road regarding drifting snow. Mr. Riehle stated the <br /> field was corn but was planted to beans and they let more snow through the put up 5 more rolls <br /> of snow fence in that area. <br /> Harman noted another area on Old Potash and Burwick Road. Steve stated the ground is <br /> frozen and the ditches were full from the rain and there was a low spot on the road so it was <br /> flooded. They worked on the road and he stated they need to address putting culverts in those <br /> driveways. <br /> Bredthauer also noted a coupe other road that were not cleared. <br /> Quandt expressed concern on the trains that are blocking Highway 2. There is no reason they <br /> should be blocking the intersections. <br /> Mr. Riehle stated that they did a computer printout on Wood River Road and J.I.L wants to do <br /> some more grinding to address the rough spots. He will have more information at the next <br /> board meeting. <br /> Richardson stated she received an e mail January 5th and read it to the board members. The <br /> person expressed serious concerns about that Ms. Bredthauer has a vendetta against Mr. <br /> Riehle and said she will have him fired. <br /> Bredthauer stated she was not going to touch what was brought up, she has gotten a lot of <br /> phone calls after a June supervisors meeting where Riehle abruptly left when she questioned <br /> the cost of a proposed new roads department building. The calls came from people who ask <br /> why she let Riehle do that and if he was in another positon he wouldn't still be there. She said I <br /> can't do it on my own. I never said anything else. From that day on, my phone has rang off the <br /> wall. <br /> 24.
