COUNTY ASSESSOR - DISCUSS AND APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS <br /> FOR a) DONIPHAN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 306 CIRCLE DRIVE DONIPHAN <br /> NE — County Assessor Jan Pelland presented the exemption application. This is for <br /> Doniphan Village Bartelt Sub to the Village of Doniphan Lots 5 & 6. To be used as the <br /> residence for the appointed United Methodist Minister and his/her family. <br /> b) CHI HEALTH 705 ORLEANS DRIVE, GRAND ISLAND, NE - this is for real estate at <br /> Colonial Estates Second Sub to the City of Grand Island Lts 2 & 3 Bok 3. This is <br /> occupied by CHI Health a nonprofit health care organization providing medical services <br /> including charitable care for those without fund for payment. County Assessor Jan <br /> Pelland has approved these exemption applications as per Nebraska State Statute 77- <br /> 202 and is asking for the county board to approve. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the exemption application as <br /> read. DISCUSS & APPROVE HOMESTEAD APPLICATION FILED DURING THE 20 DAY <br /> EXTENSION FOR CAROL FREDRICK, 10400 W AIRPORT RD, CAIRO, NE <br /> County Assessor stated that this application was received July 5, 23016 but it was <br /> during the 20 day extension. She read the letter from Carol Fredrick stating that she <br /> had been ill and was unable to get to Grand Island to file the paperwork. She is <br /> requesting that the board approve her application. <br /> Pelland denied the application but the County Board of Equalization can override her <br /> decision and approve it. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption application <br /> for Carol Fredrick. Motion carried. <br /> Gary ask if the mail is a problem and Pelland stated it is an issue some items are time <br /> sensitive and there is not a postmark until they get to Omaha and it depends if it is <br /> metered or stamped. They douse use the meter strip as the postmark. <br /> 6. COUNTY ASSESSOR - TAX CORRECTION NOTICES - Pelland presented tax <br /> correction notices #5073 to #5084 requesting a motion to authorize the Board to accept <br /> and authorize the Chair to initial. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to authorize the chair to initial tax <br /> correction notices #5073 to #5084.
