November 9, 2018 Summary of County Board Agenda Item Discussion and consideration of approval of change order number 2 for the 2018 Hall County Administration Building Parking Lot Replacement project to pave an entrance driveway to the Early Voting Drop Off Box. Background The bids for the parking lot replacement project were opened on August 21, 2018 and a contract awarded to Bigzby's, Inc. of Grand Island. Change order Number 1 to reduce the island width in the parking lot and pave it with colored stamped concrete median surfacing was approved by the county board on October 2, 2018. Discussion The Early Voting Drop Box was placed along the east wall of the Hall County Facilities Building in advance of the parking lot replacement project. The location for the drop box has worked well with good visibility for cameras to monitor the drop box. Over 20% of the early ballots came back via the drop box and that percentage is expected to increase. We are asking the county board discuss and approve a change order to: • Leave existing driveway in between the sidewalk and the curb, • Put in some paving under the current project to serve the drop off box, and • Put colored stamped concrete in between the new parking lot and proposed driveway where it would be hard to maintain a narrow strip of sod. The sketch attached to the change order shows the proposed drive and stamped concrete. Recommendation Discuss and approve change order number 2. Lriette.41 Pah Steven P.
