Lancaster noted that this is the way to do business and there are some concerns and some <br /> sensitive issues. If necessary there could be ad hock committees. It would be set by the board. <br /> Richardson stated that she does not support eliminating committees and forming ad hock <br /> committees. <br /> Lancaster stated that the ad hock committee would have a particular issue and the board could <br /> set timelines. <br /> The vote on the motion was held. Bredthauer, Lancaster Lanfear and Quandt voted yes and <br /> Richardson and Schuppan voted no. Motion carried. Arnold was absent. <br /> B. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CONTACTS FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS <br /> FOR AGENDA ITEMS - elected officials would need to go to a supervisor to add items to the <br /> agenda they would need to do this no later than Thursday before the meeting. <br /> 11 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER & <br /> BOARD MEETINGS - County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated that there is a reference to <br /> follow Roberts Rules of Order in the county board policy so it is already addressed. If they are <br /> adopted and the board would not follow them they could be challenged on the action taken. <br /> Discussion was held and Lanfear stated he was going to make a motion but may wait. <br /> Quandt stated the board cannot pick and choose when to follow them. Everyone should have <br /> the chance to speak. <br /> Bredthauer noted that at the NACO conference most counties' use them loosely and do not <br /> follow them completely. <br /> 13. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING DHHS & THE ADA EVALUATION - <br /> Richardson stated that the board does not need to make a decision today. There is to be a <br /> phone conference on Wednesday. <br /> Schuppan stated that we need to find what the cost would be and discuss it at the next meeting. <br /> We need to know what needs to be done. <br /> Quandt ask what the committee is going to tell them. We do not have a plan and need to look <br /> at what the cost would be to make it ADA assessable. We need some numbers. <br /> Bredthauer expressed concern that they sent out an RFP for space and now have had a third <br /> party assess the building. They expect an answer Wednesday. <br /> County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated that if there is an immediate concern on life safety <br /> issues there could be space in this building for those with mobility issues. The county could <br /> offer this again there is space available for meetings in existing buildings or they could meet in <br /> alternate locations that are assessable. <br /> Bredthauer expressed concern about the exits and Hall County has not given them alternate <br /> space. They have gone out for an RFP and the County may have to pay the rent. State statue <br /> states that the county has to provide the space and maintain the building. <br /> 9 <br />
