Mr. Humphrey stated that he talked to the building inspector and the fire marshal and there <br /> would not be a problem installing a door. He is waiting for a quote from Greg Baker. <br /> Discussion was held and this form of security that came from the Secretary of State's office. <br /> Bredthauer noted that if this is coming from the state it would need to be done before the <br /> November election. <br /> Quandt questioned if it could be a temporary wall and this need to be a permanent wall. <br /> Lancaster questioned if this came from the State. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that he will get a quote for this work and bring it back in 2 weeks. <br /> D) UPDATE ON PLAZA WINDOW REPAIRS — Mr. Humphrey stated that the work on the <br /> windows can be done in house it will be a minimum cost. Instead of changing the doors on the <br /> south side they can seal up the doors and save dollars. That should take care of the bug issue. <br /> E) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON SIDEWALK ALONG 2ND STREET BY PLAZA <br /> BUILDING — Mr. Humphrey stated that there are 4 trees on the sidewalk by the Plaza Building <br /> that are lifting the sidewalk and would cause a trip hazard. He is proposing to replace the <br /> current areas with a larger curb like the city used in front of the YMCA. This will keep the <br /> sidewalk from breaking. It would be about $1,800.00 to change the curb for all four 4 trees. <br /> The rest of the sidewalk is OK. It is a bigger area 5' x 6' and they will put mulch inside. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Schuppan seconded to change the curb around the tress on the <br /> Second Street sidewalk by the Plaza Building. Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> F) UPDATE ON STEP REPAIR AT FEDERAL BUILDING — Mr. Humphrey has been getting <br /> information regarding the repairs to the steps and they should be able to do this in house. Dena <br /> Sanford has been helpful regarding the future replacement of the steps. It could be about <br /> $30,000.00 to $50,000.00 to replace them. He will continue to contact some people for the <br /> future replacement. <br /> Mr. Humphrey noted that they will be starting the exterior step renovations. <br /> 10:47 a.m. Held a break <br /> 10:56 a.m. return to session <br /> 22. LETTER FROM VETERANS SERVICE OFFICE /FACILITIES COMMITTEE DISCUSSION <br /> & POSSIBLE ACTION - Quandt read a letter from the Veterans Service Committee and Mike <br /> Ponte regard Supervisor Scott Arnold. Mr. Arnold was not present because he was ill. Quandt <br /> expressed concern that this is an attack on veterans. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to remove Scott Arnold from the facilities <br /> committee. The committees will be eliminated soon. Bredthauer, Lancaster and Quandt voted <br /> yes and Lanfear, Richardson and Schuppan voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion failed. <br /> 6 <br />
