They need to know the cost of the lagoon. She expressed concern on the valuation of <br /> the ag land questioned where the money will come from. They started to put dollars away for a <br /> new building they need to wait and save more before we raise taxes. <br /> Quandt expressed concern that the design build process limits the number of contractors that <br /> can bid on a job. The county has been sitting aside $150,000.00 they need to wait. He <br /> questioned if the weed department or the building inspector even want to more. He also noted <br /> that there is already a place for the weed department to discard waste chemicals. <br /> Lancaster stated that Scott is correct if this goes to a vote of the people and it is approved it will <br /> increase taxes. This year the increase for wages and benefits is 1.2 million and the payment on <br /> a bond would take all of our spending dollars. There needs to be more information on the <br /> Kearney building. <br /> Richardson stated she appreciates the comments but it needs to be wrapped up and move on. <br /> 10. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE ADDITIONAL SPACE FOR <br /> VETERAN'S SERVICE OFFICE — Mr. Quandt stated that he talked to Loran Humphrey <br /> regarding the request for some additional storage space. He has donated items for and auction. <br /> The facilities committee discussed this and did not have a concern. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the additional space for the <br /> Veterans Service office until it is needed by the county. Arnold, Bredthauer Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Schuppan was absent. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 11. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING COLONIAL INSURANCE - Lancaster <br /> stated that the Colonial Insurance folder was given to the supervisors and it was indicated that <br /> she said to do this. She is very irritated at this because she did not say this and wants to let <br /> people know she had nothing to do with Colonial Insurance. <br /> Discussion was held. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to eliminate our relations with Colonial <br /> Insurance. Discussion was held and Quandt withdrew his motion and Lancaster withdrew her <br /> second. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Arnold seconded to refer this to the insurance committee and <br /> come back with a recommendation. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt and <br /> Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Schuppan was absent. Motion carried. <br /> FACILITIES— Mr. Humphrey stated he reviewed the bid for the janitorial services. There was <br /> only one bid from the current provider and they are recommending accepting the bid from Elite <br /> Janitorial. <br /> 12 <br />
