BERGGREN & ASSOCIATES PRESENTATION DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING SPACE NEEDS STUDY FOR COUNTY ATTORNEY - Jerry Berggren stated they conducted interviews of the staff at the county attorney's office regarding the space needs and the information was compiled The question was if the county attorney's office would fit in the Federal building and the answer is yes. This study also references the master plan. The study focused on the following issues. He provided copies of the study. • Parking • File storage • Daylighting • Poor HVAC System • High visibility room available for securely proceeding walk ins • Need centralized building adjacent to the courthouse • Some deputies are i P u in insufficient office • Mediocre break room • Secure public attorney interface needed • Current inadequate security to first floor He stated there are several options. Option #1 would be to stay in the Beltzer Building and use the vacated child support space He reviewed the pros and the cons regarding this. Option #2 would be to move to the Federal Building He did a layout design but there are some constraints. He provided the same standards and followed the same amount of square footage that was proposed and they would receive the same area. He noted that there would be parking problems but there may be some options with the parking garage to negotiate with the City for some parking space. This location would be the same distance to the Courthouse but would involve renovations. 8
