#9 Experience researching state statutes— He does research on old records dating back to the <br /> 1800's and there are state and federal laws that you have to follow. They tell you how to <br /> reestablish corners and there are some limitations you have to follow the statutes <br /> #10 Goals for the Department— He would like to see GIS expanded and to offer more as the <br /> surveys are filled he would like to see them put on the GIS System for the public. He would like <br /> to make sure that all of the corners are set. This would be a big contribution for the surveyors <br /> and engineers. <br /> #11 Why should he be selected — Brent stated he has a passion for this job and wants to make <br /> sure it is done correctly; he loves the research and likes to talk to people and meeting with the <br /> public. He loves every aspect of the job. <br /> #12 Has he filed for the elected position —He has not filed but it is intention to do so. <br /> #13 When would he be available to start— He would like to give 2 weeks' notice. <br /> #14 Anything to add — He stated he like to talk to people and gets along with everyone he is <br /> honest and strait forward and does not want conflict. <br /> 1:30 p.m. <br /> Scott Peters <br /> 1023 Nebraska Avenue <br /> Grand Island, NE 68801 <br /> #1 He is a licensed land surveyor, he attend Milford and has been a licensed surveyor since <br /> 2013 he has been based in south central Nebraska, has done survey work on the Platte River <br /> and Hamilton County. <br /> #2 Why interested — He has filed for the elected position and would like to be a county surveyor <br /> it is a good opportunity and he has worked with other surveyors. He enjoys the work and it is <br /> very rewarding. <br /> #3 Detail knowledge & experience— He has passed the exam and the testing and has <br /> experience to do the work <br /> #4 Understanding of GIS — He noted that in the past you had to use the cadastral maps but with <br /> the GIS there are layers and layers of information that can be used so many different ways. <br /> #5 Abilities and skills using CADD— he has completed 3 asphalt projects and construction plans <br /> and received training at Milford. He has done drafting since 2005. <br /> #6 Experience supervising staff— He started at the beginning at Katt Surveying and then ran the <br /> GPS and was a survey technician and then was office manager and was running the business <br /> and directing staff <br /> #7 Describe a project where he worked with another entity— He worked on projects in Hamilton <br /> and Merrick County and worked on the Platte River to determine a fixed boundary. He also <br /> worked on legislation regarding this that was passed. <br /> 9 <br />
