#3 only part of our transit needs are met JBS Swift is our largest employer, there are school <br /> buses and the assisted living facilities have buses for transportation. 4% is an embarrassing <br /> number, transportation is a basic need. <br /> Richardson stated our needs are not met. <br /> Lancaster state these are excellent points and a transit authority is a good idea. FACILITIES AGENDA SCOTT ARNOLD <br /> a. DISCUSS AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDER FOR FEDERAL BUILDING <br /> Arnold stated that there was a change order on the Federal Building that was a deduction. Mr. <br /> Humphrey stated that on July 7, 2017 discussion and a decision was made to not replace the <br /> urinal in the restroom on the second floor. It was leaking and in order to repair it they would <br /> have to take down the wall on both sides so the urinal was taken out. They submitted a change <br /> order earlier and they flagged it and it was sent back corrected. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the change order. <br /> Lancaster questioned if there was any intent to fix it and Mr. Humphrey stated no because there <br /> are two toilet there anyway. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. . Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 11. UPDATE FROM VISITOR PROMOTION COMMITTEE REGARDING THE TOM DINSDALE <br /> AUTOMOTIVE GRAND ISLAND ROUNDUP— Lancaster stated that CVB ask to put this on the <br /> agenda but they are not here to address this issue. This is regarding the Sutton Rodeo at <br /> Fonner Park. The event has been renamed the Tom Dinsdale Automotive roundup but she <br /> does not have any information. The rodeo is March 1, 2 & 3. <br /> 11. DISCUSS & TAKE ACTION ON CRANE TRUST SUPREME COURT DECISION — <br /> Lancaster stated that when the decision came out in the newspaper Chuck Cooper contacted <br /> about the decision and suggested that Jack Zitterkopf , Pam and he get together. Discussion <br /> was held and Mr. Moul is the attorney that represented the county. There has not been any <br /> official order regarding this decision. Discussion was held and the board ask County Attorney <br /> Sarah Carstensen to contact Mr. Moul and discuss the options and how to move forward. <br /> Jim Erikson, 4233 North Road Grand Island requested to address the Crane Trust issue. He <br /> stated that this will have tremendous ramifications and it has to be corrected. We ask people to <br /> support county services. This will also affect the school districts and it will continue to grow and <br /> grow. It will affect the land prices because if you do not have to pay property taxes what will <br /> happen to the price of land it is speculation on how this will go. There may be millions in <br /> exemptions in Hall County. Not only will that it affect every County in Nebraska and every <br /> taxing authority in Nebraska. This needs to go to the legislature they are looking for ways to <br /> 6 <br />
