Casey stated that he submitted his resignation at the last meeting and that was difficult because <br /> of other issues. He did not indicate where he was going 2 weeks ago but can do so now. He <br /> will be the next Nebraska State Surveyor, there is no higher achievement than that position. <br /> The board congratulated Casey on his new position. Casey stated he will do the best he can <br /> before he leaves. <br /> Schuppan stated that moral was low with everything that was going on and he contacted Family <br /> resources our employee assistance provider and ask them to meet with the employees. They <br /> did hold a session with them and Schuppan stated that he also attended. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS - Lanfear stated he attended the tree <br /> planting at the Veterans Park and it went well. It only took about an hour and it looks great. <br /> There was a nice article in the newspaper. <br /> Quandt stated they met with Jerry Piccolo and they will be sending a letter to the attorneys <br /> regarding the juvenile cases. They want to track if they are abuse and neglect cases or juvenile <br /> delinquency cases. <br /> Richardson stated that CASA held their"Deserts and Design" event and it was well attended. It <br /> is a great cause to support the court appointed advocates for children. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT— Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka stated that she will be <br /> resigning and her last day will be January 1, 2018. She stated she has appreciated working for <br /> Hall County. <br /> Arnold noted that they started about the same time and grew up together. He thanked her for <br /> everything she has done and stated she makes the board look better than they are. Richardson <br /> thanked her for everything she does and wished her the best of luck. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that Stacey has been a god send for him when he started civil work for the <br /> county. He stated he feels sorry for the next county attorney. <br /> Held a break until 10:00 a.m. for the bid opening. <br /> 10:00 A.M. BID OPENING FOR RENOVATIONS OF EXTERIOR STAIRS FOR HALL COUNTY <br /> COURTHOUSE -The following bids were received: <br /> BIDDER BID BOND BASE BID ALTERNATE BID <br /> Mid-Continental Restoration enclosed $55,453.00 $43,186.00 <br /> Parkston, SD <br /> McGill Restoration enclosed $89,795.00 $29,815.00 <br /> Omaha, NE <br /> Quandt questioned if there was an estimate and Mr. Humphrey said about $50,000.00 for the <br /> step restoration and $45,000.00 for the entire building. <br /> Bredthauer questioned if they bid the same specifications. They received the same information. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated they are both reputable companies and do the specialized restorations <br /> 6 <br />
