Arnold noted that if someone has the certification the training issue may not be as critical. <br /> Lancaster stated that she ask Stacey if she would receive the applications and use her e mail <br /> address to receive it. There will be a folder with all of the applications and resumes and be <br /> available to all of the supervisors and would not be available to the public. The personnel <br /> committee will select 3 to 5 for the interviews. <br /> It was agreed to advertise in the Sunday Grand Island Independent, NACO and Workforce <br /> Development the letters will be mailed and e mailed. <br /> Discussions was held on the background check and if the applicants would be ask to sign the <br /> form for the back ground check. It will be added to the employment add that the finalists will be <br /> subject to a background check. <br /> Lancaster stated that it is also the intention to have the elected official sit in on the interviews. <br /> She also stated that the process for selections a new election commissioner will come forward <br /> in 2 weeks. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the letter and the time line for the <br /> selection of the County Assessor/Register of Deeds with the suggested changes to the letter <br /> and to advertise in NACO, Workforce Development and the Grand Island Independent and send <br /> the letters and e mails. <br /> Discussion was held on the training wage and Jan Pelland suggested 75% or 80% of the <br /> official's salary. <br /> Quandt amended his motion and Bredthauer seconded to add that the salary would be 75% of <br /> the elected official's salary. The board ask Mr. Zitterkopf if there should be a resolution for that <br /> salary and he stated that this person is not the official or the deputy so he did not think that was <br /> necessary. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Flowers were presented to Karen Bredthauer for her birthday. <br /> Lancaster called for other public participation and no ne responded. <br /> FACILITIES - a) FEDERAL BUILDING UPDATE— Richardson stated the Federal Building <br /> renovations are on schedule and the painting is to be done tomorrow they have started the <br /> bathroom tile and are working hard to stay on schedule. Mr. Humphrey distributed a new <br /> schedule. Mr. Lanfear stated that the work looks great. They are also starting the carpet on the <br /> west side and the fire system is to be completed today and the fire marshal will do the <br /> inspection. <br /> B DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION/RATIFICATION OF CHANGE ORDER#2 <br /> Thesis an AIA document from Marvin Webb regarding the items listed. After the deduction the <br /> total was $862.00. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the AIA document. The HVAC change <br /> was a deduction it was the logical thing to do it was not a cost it was less. <br /> 3 <br />
