SPECIAL PRESENTATION FROM THE TREASURER'S OFFICE - County Treasurer
Peg Pesek presented an award to Dave Waskowiak recognizing him for his outstanding efforts
collecting distress warrants. She noted the number and the amount of dollars he collected.
Dave stated he was surprised and did not expect this. He said it is a pleasure to work with the
County Treasurer's office.
9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting
9:11 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting.
7 DISCUSS AND APPROVE THE PROCESS AND TRAINING WAGE FOR THE APPOINTED
HALL COUNTY ASSESSOR/REGISTER OF DEEDS — Lancaster provided the board members
with a copy of the proposed letter that was to be sent out to all of the individuals that have
assessor certifications. This could be e mailed or sent regular mail or use both methods.
Arnold questioned if the board has to wait until December to approve the resolution for the
elected officials for the next term and would the board want to make a decision on this.
Stacey noted that NACO usually provides a salary survey and ask if the board wanted to wait
until that is available.
Arnold stated the only thing that would be changed would be to make it higher if the NACO
survey came in higher. Even if the resolution is approved it could be changed.
Lancaster stated that this is noted in the letter. The board members agreed that it could be
approved before October 1st
Discussion was held on the time line and the employment ads. Lancaster stated it will be on the
NACO website at no cost and Workforce Development. Discussion was held on the time line.
• August 8, 2017 approve the letter and place other official notifications
• September 11, 2017 personnel committee review applicators and approve 3 to 5 to
interview
• September 19, 2017 schedule interviews
• September 22, 2017 make selection
• October 2, 2017 commence training of new person. Stacey questioned if that was a
reasonable date because the applicant may have to give notice to a previous employer
Lancaster stated that she hope the training would be completed by December 1st.
Bredthauer questioned how many letters would be sent out and how many people have the
certifications.
