There needs to be some standards set and look for a solution that may be more <br /> reasonable moving forward. She expressed concern that the inheritance tax may end at the <br /> federal level and that could also affect Nebraska. This could affect future projects. <br /> Schuppan stated he is tired of pointing fingers at Jack about what it would cost. You don't want <br /> to cable it up he supports this project and you need to do it right. Jack has nothing to do with <br /> this deal is it the County Attorney's office and preparing it for the next 40 or 50 years <br /> Quandt stated he would have not voted to purchase the building if he knew it would take this <br /> much money to remodel. The cost of the Courthouse <br /> renovations is not just the heating and air there has been a lousy job of patching things up. <br /> There was nothing done for 20 years and the Courthouse had a lot of work that needed to be <br /> done. <br /> Lanfear stated there was an outrageous amount of money spent for the offices for Don Shuda. <br /> The cost per square foot for a few people is disgusting and if that was the bar for the Federal <br /> Building it would be a million dollars for the renovations. <br /> Quandt stated Shuda was moved into that building because no one wanted it. Lanfear stated <br /> that he wanted to be out north. <br /> Lancaster noted she looked at the cost of the Public Defender's Office and the Veterans office <br /> renovations and stated she disagrees with Doug. <br /> Richardson noted that there have been a lot of prepared statements and she thought this was a <br /> working board not a board that uses prepared statements. <br /> The vote on the motion to award the low bid for the Federal Building renovations was taken. <br /> Arnold, Lanfear, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and Bredthauer, Lancaster and <br /> Quandt voted no.
