Discussion was held <br /> it is not on the agenda to accept them. <br /> Schuppan suggested that the facilities committee come back with a recommendation where to <br /> place them. <br /> UPDATE ON COURTHOUSE WINDOWS & COURTHOUSE STEPS - Mr. Humphrey C) p y stated <br /> that he is working with State Glass on the specifications for the windows and then put it out for <br /> bids. There ae 2 requirements in order to keep the tax credits. They have to be called storm <br /> windows, they cannot be tinted and have to be archaically correct to meet the historical <br /> requirements. They will be dark bronze in color and should meet the requirements. He <br /> anticipates that they should be able to get two bids one from Manco and Ali. After looking at the <br /> windows they may do it in two phases. On some of the windows you can see the old green <br /> paint and it will need to be painted back to the original color. Some of the windows can be <br /> taken out to be repaired. The windows need to be refurbished. They have the dollars set aside <br /> to complete the projects. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that he is waiting on the third quote for the Courthouse steps. PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER HALL COUNTY PUBLIC <br /> TRANSPORTATION'S APPLICATION TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE <br /> FEDERAL TRANSIT ACT- Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to open the public <br /> hearing. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Theresa Engelhardt Director and Sharon Penner Director of Transportation were present. This <br /> paperwork allows the Hall County Board to contract with Senior Citizens Industries for public <br /> transportation that takes place outside the City of Grand Island. This is for the rural area. The <br /> City of Grand Island picks up the rides under the MPO. There are two separate grants. <br /> Theresa explained that they are also the contractor for city, <br /> Lancaster noted that Theresa has been there 8 years and the Senior Center is thriving and <br /> Sharon Penner has been hired as the Transportation Director. Sharon stated that she worked <br /> for Principal Finance and for UPS and this has been a good fit. <br /> Theresa stated that the City is currently doing a study to see what the needs are for the transit <br /> system. She encouraged everyone to let the city know of any needs and then it will be up to the <br /> city to increase services. <br /> Richardson stated that she went to one of the sessions and she shared information. Theresa <br /> stated they met with the drivers and they could see how they care for the people. They are <br /> taking people to school and work and take care of a lot of people in the community. <br /> 9 <br />
