Mr. Martin stated that if the zoning regulations are changed then they would review them on a <br /> yearly basis If they are only updating then they would reevaluate them and if nothing stands out <br /> then they would move on. Hall County can proceed with the application process. <br /> Quandt questioned how long it would take to get the livestock friendly designation. Mr. Martin <br /> stated that the application process goes quickly normally just a couple of weeks. They like to <br /> have the Governor and the Director of Agriculture present the designation. Discussion was <br /> held and it would be excellent to have the designation at the County Fair. <br /> Bredthauer ask if anyone in Lincoln or Omaha have the designation and Mr. Martin stated that <br /> they have not applied. He noted that some of the counties are facing urban sprawl and have <br /> not applied. The department of Ag approves or takes the designation away if things change. He <br /> explained that once they receive an application he reviews it the assistant director reviews it and <br /> then it goes to the director for approval. <br /> Cindy Johnson with the Chamber of Commerce asked if the application process is started and <br /> they change their minds and they can ask to not receive the designation. Mr. Martin stated that <br /> they could just withdraw the application <br /> Chairman Lancaster called for questions and no one responded. <br /> Chairman Lancaster thanked Mr. Martin for coming. <br /> Quandt stated that this would be great for Hall County and he would like to see it move forward. <br /> Chad Nabity stated that he has looked at the schedule for this and if the County board is willing <br /> he would like to schedule a public hearing for May 16, 2017. That will give him some time to <br /> contact the other communities to explain what is being done. He would like to have the <br /> designation in place for the opening of the State Fair and have the designation announced at <br /> the County Fair. He should be able to make that work. <br /> Lancaster stated that Chad can work with Marla to set the public hearing. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS—Chairman Lancaster called for committee <br /> or board member reports. And no one responded. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT- Stacey Ruzicka stated she received a letter from Steve <br /> Riehle regarding the replacement of a bridge on North Monitor Road. This is a federal aid <br /> bridge project. The packet of information is requesting public comment regarding the project. <br /> We now have the buyback program for projects. This is a low traffic area. This information is <br /> set out to local officials and to residents. Discussion was also held on al letter from DEQ <br /> regarding the request for the solid waste disposal permit renewal for the City of Grand Island <br /> Solid Waste Transfer Station in Hall County. <br /> 21.
