The following bids were received. <br /> BIDDER TOTAL BID <br /> Weathercraft $43,964.00 <br /> Duff Roofing $80,500.00 <br /> Tri City Group $45,600.00 <br /> Bid bonds were enclosed <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Schuppan seconded to refer the bids to the committee and come <br /> back with a recommendation on January 10, 2017. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> Lancaster stated that she appreciated the information and when things come forward it is good <br /> to have all the information to make the best decision. She stated that she is pleased with the <br /> bids. <br /> 7.10:00 A.M. BID OPENING FOR REPAIRS FOR SKYLIGHT AT COURTHOUSE —The <br /> following bid was received. <br /> BIDDER TOTAL BID <br /> Weathercraft Co. $36,235.00 <br /> Bid bond enclosed <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that there are very few companies that do this type of work. It is to <br /> replace the copper and this price is good until the project is completed. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Lancaster seconded to accept the bid from Weathercraft for <br /> $36,235.00 and authorize the chair to sign. Discussion was held and the contract needs to be <br /> updated and then signed. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> 28. DISCUSS AND TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION ON CONTRACTORS LICENSE AND <br /> REGISTRATION —Alan Pickrel was present and reported that as of November 21, 2016 they <br /> collected $998.13 and they will have a better picture later. The other entities contributed the <br /> $10,000.00. This is the contractor's license and registration and the fees have been discussed. <br /> The fee is $50.00 and it is based on what the city and other places charge. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the contractor's license and <br /> registration fee. <br /> Arnold questioned if they have definitions and what the definition of a business would be. What <br /> if you are doing the labor or is it labor for hire. <br /> Mr. Pickrel stated that an attorney general's opinion states that if you are not actively living there <br /> it is not your home. <br /> Arnold questioned if he is redoing his house would he have to register as a contractor. Alan <br /> stated that if you do over$2,500.00 worth of business you would have to register as a <br /> 6 <br />
