Schuppan questioned if they wanted the county board to reply and Chad stated that the board <br /> could respond in a letter. Lancaster asked if the board would like to send a letter but it would <br /> need to be with board approval. <br /> Arnold questioned if they could do the whole area. Chad stated that if it was the whole are it <br /> would have to meet the requirements. <br /> Lancaster stated that she thinks the board could be an active interested party. Chad noted that <br /> there will be no new housing or new students it is not like a housing project. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Arnold seconded to send a letter that the county board is in favor <br /> of the two sites as long as it is outside the city jurisdiction and in the future the county board <br /> would have the opportunity to comment on future projects. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Lancaster is it a good idea that the board comment on these projects. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS — Schuppan reported that the insurance <br /> committee met regarding some issues with insurance agents giving misinformation to <br /> employees. They decided that it would be to the county's best interest to come up with a policy. <br /> This will be brought back to the full board once it is finished. <br /> Quandt stated that he serves on Region III and was elected to serve as Chairman of the board. <br /> Lancaster stated that there was an emergency management meeting but she had a conflict so <br /> she contacted Jon Rosenlund. This is orientation and information to bring the committee up to <br /> speed on the new E911 center. Jon stated that he would like to report to the board and give a <br /> brief summary of what is going on. <br /> 20. FACILITIES AGENDA- a) DISCUSSION ON VETERANS PARK Mr. Humphrey was not <br /> present. Ms. Richardson stated that with the widening of Capital Avenue there are concerns on <br /> the landscaping since the project is nearing completion. The county has $39,000.00 for <br /> landscaping improvements. There has been discussion to see if the Boy or Girl Scouts would <br /> be interested in the project. The State forestry Department has been contacted and there is a <br /> plan to remove some evergreens and clean up the area. <br /> Lancaster suggested that they bring a written proposal to the board they need some numbers. <br /> Richardson noted they wanted some input from the Veterans Club also. <br /> b) DISCUSSION OF POSSIBLE COST OF THE COUNTY ATTORNEY CHILD SUPPORT <br /> AREA FEDERAL BUILDING — Richardson provided the board members with a copy of the <br /> proposed cost for the Federal Building. This was not discussed at the facilities meeting because <br /> they just received it and they wanted to get it to the board. <br /> Quandt questioned if the study from Berggren that was done in December was back. <br /> Richardson stated that they met with Berggren last week and he presented some preliminary <br /> ideas. He wants to meet with the committee one more time and then do a final presentation to <br /> the County Board. The child support area in the Federal Building was not addressed in his <br /> study. <br /> 5 <br />
