COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBERS REPORTS — Richardson stated that they will finish up <br /> the employee recognition tomorrow. This will be the first round but they may also look at <br /> something again later. <br /> Lancaster reported that the Grand Generation center submitted a proposal to the City for the <br /> public transportation services. She also expressed concern on the articles in the paper <br /> regarding the state tourism. It had been determined some time ago that the state statute <br /> requires that the county should have more oversight regarding CVB and moving forward they <br /> did so. Brad Mellema is very through and so was Renee Seifert. <br /> Lanfear reported that Central Nebraska Drug Court held their quarterly meeting and they also <br /> had 31 graduates and in that group there were 4 babies that were born to members that were <br /> born drug free. He also stated that he tried to contact Pam Bourne regarding the HR department <br /> but she is very busy and he has not been able to contact her. He asked if he should move <br /> forward. <br /> Arnold stated that he received an e mail from Dave Waskowiak stating he appreciated the <br /> employee recognition lunch. <br /> Quandt stated thanked Mike Olsen and Doug Brown for the welcoming for the veterans it was a <br /> great homecoming. There were about 4000 people out there and he is proud of Hall County. <br /> Lancaster thanked Gary for his efforts to get this started. Lancaster stated it was emotional and <br /> heartfelt. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT—no report <br /> FACILITIES AGENDA <br /> A) DISCUSS &APPROVE CHANGE ORDER#15 &AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN <br /> This is to provide an enclosure for the urinal on the second floor. Mr. Humphrey stated that this <br /> will solve the problem; the total cost is $1,311.00. <br /> Quandt expressed concern that there should be some accountability from the contractor and the <br /> architect. Now we have to pay more to have it fixed. He stated they should have to cover the <br /> cost of the change. If the bathroom was engineered right we would not have to pay extra. <br /> Lancaster stated that $1,300.00 in a million dollar project is not that much but if this is a design <br /> problem that is disappointing. <br /> Lanfear stated this should have been caught and there have been a lot of problems and <br /> surprises but we just need to get it done. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Schuppan seconded to approve change order#15 and authorize <br /> the Chair to sign. <br /> Discussion was held and Mr. Humphrey stated that all of the restrooms have been changed and <br /> the ADA issues were addressed. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. Arnold, Lanfear, Purdy, Richardson and Schuppan all voted <br /> yes and Lancaster and Quandt voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 5 <br />
