Schuppan made a motion and Lanfear seconded to authorize the personnel committee to
present the evaluation to the employee. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt,
Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
14. DISCUSS & TAKE ACTION ON PROPOSAL FROM FAMILY RESOURCES OF GREATER
NEBRASKA TO INTERVIEW CORRECTIONS EMPLOYEES —Arnold stated that a copy of the
proposal was included in the packets. This would provide interviews with the corrections
employees to address the changes that have been made and how effective they were and if
there are any more concerns. Seanne Emerton and Anna Hain put together the proposal; it
would be $60.00 an interview with a cap of$1,800.00.
The information would be kept confidential.
Richard questioned if these are mandatory how they would be different from the regular EAP
services. It was explained that there would be a set of questions by phone interview and the
employees could speak freely if there are still issues. The board would then receive the
information.
Board Assistant Stacy Ruzicka explained that this is a request from the county board so they
would know if there are any potential issues at the corrections department. This would not be
included in the other EAP contract.
Lancaster stated she has some reservations but Todd has shared that there are still some
issues and this would give him some insight and he thought this would be beneficial. She
expressed concern that$60.0 is high.
Quandt noted that they can suggest but not request that they do this and it is over the phone.
Mr. Zitterkopf noted that this could be done on county time.
Lanfear stated there has been a lot of emotion for a long time and they need a sympathetic ear
and third party input.
Quandt stated he does not have a problem with the counselors but he expressed concern on
the information coming back to the board.
Arnold stated this is not therapy this is to find out how things are going and what can be done
better.
Lancaster is not about us it is if there are improvements that need to be made.
Purdy made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the agreement with Family Resources.
Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear and Schuppan all voted yes and Richardson and Quandt voted no.
Motion carried.
BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS — Ms. Richardson stated that they are working on the
application for the Federal Building and she thanked Mr. Drudik for his help. They are collecting
pictures and are adding the suggestions they received.
Mr. Quandt stated the election committee met regarding the township issues and it will be
addressed in 2 weeks. This can only be done every 4 years.
8
