Chairman Arnold called for a 5 minute recess. <br /> 6. CONTINUE DISCUSSION - DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON RE-ESTABLISHING THE <br /> POSITION OF HALL COUNTY BUILDING INSPECTOR - Lancaster made a motion and Quandt <br /> seconded to move forward to reinstate the position of building inspector. <br /> Lancaster amended her motion and Quandt seconded to move forward to reinstate the position <br /> of Hall County Building Inspector and to review this in two years. <br /> Lancaster stated that this needed to be done and the villages are willing to participate. They will <br /> also need the job descriptions completed. <br /> Lanfear questioned how the code inspection would work and Mr. Cramer stated that if the <br /> buildings are unsafe they will use this as a tool to address the issues. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated the he understands that if there is a problem with a building in the City of <br /> Wood River it would be the City Attorney's job to address this. The county will also have to <br /> adopt the building codes. <br /> Schuppan noted that if there is nuisance abatement and code enforcement the county sheriff <br /> will help with these issues because there is an Interlocal agreement with the city and villages for <br /> law enforcement. <br /> Arnold stated that he felt the villages could contribute more. They could do the 60% and the <br /> County 40%. <br /> Lanfear stated this was discussed and the first year will be a trial and they can see how it <br /> breaks down. <br /> Lancaster stated that there will be an office and they will be able to provide quality service. <br /> Some of the cost will be unknown at first but we have a responsibility to the county constituents <br /> to work things out. It has been a good process to bring all of the people in the county to come <br /> together and work this out. <br /> Gary will benefit the community and also the weed department and they will have someone in <br /> the office. <br /> Arnold stated he has some reservations and concern about hiring another employee we have a <br /> big budget this year. <br /> The vote on the motion to reinstate the county building inspector was taken. Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and Arnold and Schuppan voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 7. COUNTY ATTORNEY <br /> CONSIDERATION AND ACTION TO APPROVE PROPOSED CHANGES MADE TO THE <br /> COUNTY WAGE SCALE MADE BY THE CLASSIFICATION COMMITTEE AT ITS MEETING <br /> ON 6-1-15— County Attorney jack Zitterkopf stated that the classification committee met and <br /> there was a request to address several employees pay ranges. <br /> • Bailiffs were on range 6 moved to Range 10 this is more of an administrative assistant <br /> position <br /> 9 <br />
