18. FACILITIES AGENDA <br /> 1)DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON CUSTODIAL CONTRACT-- Lanfear stated that <br /> they would like to continue on with the current contract with no change. The state probation <br /> office vacuums and dusts their own offices they will need to have the hallways and restrooms <br /> cleaned. The construction on the Courthouse will start in August and the contractor is to clean <br /> up so it will be ready to go in the morning. Discussion was held to reduce the charges if they <br /> are not cleaning. Quandt stated that the contractor can do the cleaning or hire someone to do <br /> the cleaning. <br /> Schuppan they are discussing this with the current company. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf asked if the contractors ae going to clean the restrooms. They will also be <br /> remodeling the restrooms. Also the department will handle the personal shredding. <br /> Lancaster noted that the contractors are to clean up after themselves but not clean up the mess <br /> during the day. This will be discussed if they do it or hire someone. <br /> 1) UPDATE ON COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING - Mr. Humphrey stated that they had to grind the <br /> concrete floors to remove the glue in order to lay the new carpet. The ceilings and lights are <br /> back in and the painting is 75% done. They still have a couple of doors to put in but it is on <br /> schedule. <br /> Quandt expressed concern that there were promises made to the public defender regarding the <br /> south side of the building and he expressed concern that this should be in the minutes. Lanfear <br /> stated that there were no promises and Mr. Piccolo will not come to the meetings to go over the <br /> plans. He stated that they need to include Mr. Piccolo. <br /> Lancaster stated that she thought there were some proposed floor plans. Mr. Piccolo was <br /> asked to wait until the side for probation was completed. The information just needs to be <br /> shared. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that talked to Jerry and they were going to address probation first and <br /> then juvenile diversion he was not aware they would get the entire south half. They are <br /> addressing one department at a time and He would like some direction from the board and <br /> asked if there were dollars budgeted. Stacey stated that there are funds in the building and land <br /> improvement funds that can be used. <br /> Lancaster stated that the renovation for the rest of the building will be the same or better that <br /> the other half and there are dollars to do the renovations. She would like to see the floor plans <br /> and set up a meeting and have Mr. Piccolo come. Discussion was held to address this again in <br /> 2 weeks. <br /> 3) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON RESTROOMS AT THE COUNTY OFFICE <br /> BUILDING -- Mr. Humphrey stated that they had a plumber locate the drain and tear out the <br /> floor. The cost will be about $20,000.00 and they will have to go out for bids on some work. Mr. <br /> Piccolo requested a sink and a private restroom but that will be up to the board. They need to <br /> talk to the public defender. <br /> There is a concern that the adults are side by side with the juveniles and this needs to be <br /> addressed. This is not an unreasonable request. <br /> 8 <br />
