Lancaster stated that in times like this we should be thoughtful and considerate not just from <br /> employee to employee but also to the public. <br /> Arnold noted that at the safety center people could purchase a band at the police department <br /> but not at the sheriff's department. The law enforcement wives have support group and they <br /> would like to be able to purchase the bands from the sheriff's office. He also expressed concern <br /> taking time from work but they can use a break area. He is not interested in changing the <br /> policy. <br /> The vote on the motion to allow selling wrist bands was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 11 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING WERNER CONSTRUCTION <br /> CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT- Quandt stated that he had received phone calls from the public <br /> regarding the use of a grinding machine. Loren Humphrey and Casey Sherlock were present <br /> and they did a site inspection and there were some areas of concern. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that <br /> he did not make the site inspection. Loran showed pictures of the site and noted that there <br /> could be a pile that was hauled in to be ground up and this would violate the conditional use <br /> permit. Casey showed the footprint of the area and it does not appear that it has changed since <br /> 2005. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that he drives by the site and it seems that they are complying with the <br /> conditional use permit. This was discussed in committee and they would like direction from the <br /> county board on how to proceed. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to draft a letter to Werner Construction <br /> regarding violation to the conditional use permit. <br /> Schuppan stated that he was aware of the grinder and the asphalt stock pile was larger. Casey <br /> stated that they can crush material that is mined on site. <br /> The vote on the motion to send the letter was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, <br /> Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 14. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND REGULAR CLAIMS —The board members <br /> received the board preapproval for the vendor claims. Schuppan made a motion and <br /> Richardson seconded to approve the bi weekly pay claims and regular claims. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS—Quandt stated that he attended the veteran's awareness <br /> committee meeting. He reported that he has had calls from the public regarding the budget and <br /> salaries and would like to see that all of the budget meetings are recorded. <br /> Lanfear stated that he attended the drug court board meeting and they are asking for$3,000.00 <br /> more than last year due to the wage increases. They do not have anywhere to cut expenses. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT Board assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board members <br /> of the Stuhr meeting.
