#6 INFORMATION & UPDATE ON PLAZA CENTER — Mr. Humphrey stated that the fiber optic
and phones will be completed by April 1st and probation has asked for some furniture from the
surplus storage. There is some of the ceiling that fell down and some electrical wiring that is not
in conduit. They also have some air ducts that need to have new pipes installed. He also
showed some pictures of the heating and cooling units on the roof that need some changes
made. Quandt expressed concern that the building should have met building codes.
2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON HALL COUNTY PARK CHANGES
Mr. Humphrey stated that when the park is open they work 7 days a week and they are
considering changes. There is a new concept is using a volunteer camp host these are
campers that serve as host to the other campers. He read a list of the duties. He is suggesting
a 7:30 to 4:40 work schedule.
For the money handling there is a depository that is secured and they use envelopes with
instructions and signage the dollars would be removed once a day and deposited. The gate
would have a key pad and codes. The gate would close automatically. He also talked to the
sheriff and if he wants they could patrol the park to make sure that it is secure.
Quandt noted that this would address having employees out so late.
Lancaster questioned the camp host. Mr. Humphrey stated that there are other camp sites that
use this. It allows campers to volunteer to do this in exchange for paying the camping fees.
They make sure that every camper is registered and it is basically an honor system. There is a
tag that is posted on each camper so they would know that they have paid the fees. This would
help with the staffing issues at the park and at the down town location.
Mr. Lanfear that if he has people to do this to go with it.
Mr. Humphrey stated that they need to make one shower ADA assessable and he is proposing
to use coin operated showers. They have $10,000.00 budgeted for changes.
INFORMATION ONLY ON MEMORIAL SIGN FOR HALL COUNTY VETERANS PARK IN
MEMORY OF ERIC KNOTT— Mr. Humphrey received the request to have this refinished and
put it at the Veterans Memorial Park so he sent the request to Don Shuda and he has contacted
the Veterans Club regarding this.
4. INFORMATION & UPDATE ON COURTHOUSE PROJECT— Mr. Humphrey stated he is
trying to get a meeting set up. He has a notebook with the shop drawings and is starting to
work on the work schedule in the Courthouse. Quandt asked about the shop drawings they
were resubmitted and accepted.
5. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION FOR ASBESTOS INSPECTION AT COURTHOUSE —
Mr. Humphrey stated that there has not been an asbestos inspection at the Courthouse and he
asked the board if they wanted to proceed with an inspection in the areas that will be affected by
the remodel. He has a proposal for$2,050.00 he recommended to do the inspection before
construction starts.
Lanfear stated he was surprised that it has not been done.
Lanfear made a motion and Schuppan seconded to authorize an asbestos inspection in the
6
