Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve placing a sound proof door <br /> connecting the county jury room to the mental health hearing room. Mr. Humphrey <br /> stated they will need to hire a contractor and he will bring quotes to the county board in <br /> 2 weeks. They will also have to work around the court room schedule to do this work. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan, and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 3. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON COURTHOUSE WINDOWS —John <br /> Spencer with Spencer Works was present he had a sample of a historic window that <br /> can be installed they are about $300.00 each and have different types of glass and <br /> wood. Currently some of the windows can be opened and some cannot. <br /> Mr. McFarland stated that the historical society encouraged them to retain the original <br /> windows. Discussion was held and they can use different types of wood and they can <br /> be stained to match the original wood. They can also make repairs if necessary. <br /> Lancaster stated that it would be wise to have the committee review the windows in the <br /> individual offices to determine what kind is needed. Mr. Spencer also explained that <br /> they can use different types of glass to make the HVAC system more efficient. <br /> Mr. Quandt asked how many windows there were and it was stated they think about <br /> 120. Mr. Spencer stated he would be glad to come back and do a walkthrough of the <br /> building to determine what would be needed. <br /> 2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON COURTHOUSE HVAC, ELECTRICAL <br /> AND PLUMBING AND ADA RESTROOM REMODEL - Mr. Jon Jackson was present he <br /> provided the board members with estimates regarding the ADA restroom renovations at <br /> the Courthouse. He stated that there are not enough restrooms according to the <br /> number of employees they are also proposing to make the men's restroom on the <br /> second floor to a unisex restroom. <br /> Mr. Arnold questioned if they would have to add a fire suppression system if they are <br /> remodeling. Mr. Jackson stated that he talked to Brad Kissler regarding this and he has <br /> scheduled a meeting with the city building inspector Craig Lewis regarding these issues. <br /> Ms. Lancaster noted that the domestic water supply has been addressed but she asked <br /> if the pipes in the building are going to be replaced. Mr. Jackson stated that that has <br /> been addressed in his estimate they have also addressed using point of use water <br /> heaters instead of the old 60 gallon water heater. She also asked if the drinking <br /> fountains have been addressed and Mr. Jackson stated they will also be addressed. <br /> Mr. Quandt asked if the county did decide to add on to the building would the new water <br /> lines be enough and Mr. Jackson stated that they would not and there would have to be <br /> a dedicated 6 inch water service line for that. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that the current water line supplies several buildings so there <br /> 7 <br />
