He is inter- <br />ested in buying the building. <br />Board members stated the Weed Control office would be moving soon but <br />would be at least September 1st before the extension offices are moved out <br />of the building. Would then have to advertise to sell the building as <br />per state statute. <br /> <br />10:00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING concerning the proposed enactment of resolution <br />submitting at the next primary election the issue of whether the County <br />should be authorized to conduct a lottery within the County of Hall. <br />Affidavit of publication was read as published in Grand Island Daily <br />Independent on February 28th and 29th, 1992. <br />There were approximately 40 present in the audience and 4 news media <br />representatives. <br /> <br />Chairperson Landis opened the hearing and ask~d those in favor to speak <br />first. <br />Speaking were Earl Ahlschwede Attorney for Rod Huebner, owner of Hub <br />Lounge, requesting the issue be placed on the ballot for vote of the people <br />of Hall County. Also speaking was Mary Ann Huebner, wife of Rod Huebner <br />and also a resident and voter of Hall county. <br /> <br />Those speaking opposing the issue were Hugh Miner, Jr, resident of Hall <br />County and General Manager of Fonner Park. He read a prepared statement. <br />Sallie Folsom, 1504 W 2nd, Grand Island; Dick Good President of Chamber <br />of Commerce; Terry Kneale, Chairman Government of Affairs Committe of <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />Earl Wilson, Grand Island spoke stated neither pro or against the <br />issue but should be put on the ballot and let people decide. <br />Ron Krause, resident of Hall County. MrsOver~urp spoke stating she <br />felt was moral issue and not a tax issue. Overtur <br />No others from the audience came forward to speak. Chairperson Landis <br />asked board members for any comments. <br />Public H~aring was closed after one hour. <br /> <br />Motion by Wright, seconded by Frauen to put on the ballot for vote of the <br />people. On roll call vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt and Wright voted yes, <br />Abernethy, Leslie and Landis voted no.
