<br />Frauen made motion, seconded by Quandt to open sealed bids for a box
<br />culvert for project C40(253). Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />One bid was received with a bid of $461.76 per ft. with the end sections
<br />being $1827.74 with a total of $22,125.88. This bid was submitted by
<br />Wilson Concrete.
<br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director, recommended to reject this bid as the
<br />specs asked for a poured in place box culvert and this bid is not for a
<br />poured one. Landis made motion, seconded by Frauen to reject this bid
<br />on the recommendation of Hostler. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />Hostler reported an accident at the county shed near Prosser, which occurred
<br />over the week-end, damaging the doors to the shed. He ask the Boards
<br />approval to fix the doors. Quandt so moved and Frauen seconded the motion.
<br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes,
<br />none voted no.
<br />
<br />Harvey Larsen, Silver Haired Senator for the 31st District, discussed
<br />the workings of there sessions and how they handle the bills submitted.
<br />
<br />Stelk indicated that she had 3 contracts from Lancaster, Buffalo and
<br />Lincoln counties in regards to the Visitors Promotion in those various
<br />counties. She and Landis agreed to leave Hall County's the way it is
<br />for now, but like to have the County Board more involved, especially
<br />with the budget, so they would wait until they began to work on the
<br />budget for 94-95, and ask that the matter be placed on the agenda the
<br />first of April.
<br />Mr. Johnson with the Airport Authority was in the audience and indicated
<br />the airport was working on a marketing plan and will talk to the Visitors
<br />Promotion and come to the Board at a later time.
