Letter was signed by <br />four other businesses located in the area. <br /> <br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director gave statements in regard to reasons for the <br />public_ll.earing.' n <br /> <br />No others spoke in support or against the changing of right of way. <br /> <br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Frauen to close the Public Hearing. Abernethy, <br />Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Landis to leave roads as they are in the Adams <br />street Industrial area. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and <br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no, Frauen abstained. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />1. Received thank you note from County Attorney and also 3 other county <br />employees expressing their appreciation for the County employees picnic <br />held Sunday, July 31st. <br /> <br />2. Letter in regard to planning meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, <br />1994 at..Int.erstate Holiday Inn at Grand Island to plan for the Fall, <br />Central District County. Officials meeting to be held in Grand Island <br />September 15th and hosted by Hall County. <br /> <br />3. Letter from state Auditor of Public Accounts in answer to question asked <br />at budget seminar in Grand Island in regard to what to do if no one would <br />serve on a. township board. <br /> <br />4. City Clerk in regard to City Council rejected the Hall County Board's offer <br />to purchase the Old City Hall Building. <br /> <br />5. Letter from City of Grand Island Mayor Dobesh, that he was forwarding to <br />Dianne Kelley, Director of Downtown Development the contract received <br />July 29, 1994 to consider Hall County as purchasers of the old City Hall. <br /> <br />6. Letter from Scott Armey, Denton County Texas Commissioner asking Hall County <br />to join in a national grassroots movement to reinstate prayer in our public <br />schools. <br /> <br />Motion by Les,lie, seconded by Abernethy to place on file the communications <br />received today. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk <br />voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Leslie reported he had phone call from lady in Texas in regard to phone contract <br />for jail facility. <br /> <br />Quandt: Attended Interchange meeting at Chamber of Commerce Office, Midland <br />Area Agency on Aging, Industrial Foundation and County officials <br />meetings. <br />Discussed the Interchange meeting which Leslie had also attended. Reported on <br />update information available. <br /> <br />Abernethy: Attended College Park Board Meeting and also Midland Area Agency <br />on Aging meeting. <br /> <br />Stelk: Attended Mid:L~I1JL1\reaRIl ]\.gency on Agi..ng meeting, .\she__reported o~ ,the <br />~ourity_emPfuees !2iG.~~Suand the'County_officials'meeting. <br /> <br />Landis: Made report on the State Board of Equalization meeting in Kearney, <br />she attended last week. <br /> <br />Leslie: Reported on NIRMA Insurance meeting. <br /> <br />Hartman: Mid Nebraska Individual'~on'ferencec~ll m~ting, ~. Mid Plains Center <br />update report, Children'svifiage will be under the Mid Plains Build- <br />ing September 1st and county will have the Village building back. <br /> <br />Hostler reported on the option on piece of land near AIda for recreation area <br />wi th option_~9r :L.?_9__.~ays for $500.00 He presented the option and also claim <br />for payment., propery located pt LIS on Island SEl/2 1-9-11 <br /> <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Leslie to pursue option to buy land for recreation <br />area and authorize Chairman to sign. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie and Stelk voted <br />yes, Frauen, Hartman and Quandt voted no. Motion carried on 4 yes, 3 no vote. <br /> <br />Claim for payment to be presented at August 16th claim day. <br />
