Update information received from Attorney Pigsley. <br /> <br />5. Need evaluation forms back for Public Works Director. <br /> <br />6. Presented letter to Governor Nelson to continue support on Resolution <br />#1564 adopted by County Board on May 17, 1994 for the retrocession of <br />jurisdiction at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant. <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Landis to authorize signing the letter to <br />Governor Nelson continuing support of Resolution #1564. Abernethy, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted yes, none voted no, with Hartman <br />absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Quandt suggested a letter of support be sent to support the c9~ination of <br />Law Enforcement at the Law Enforcement Center in Grand Island. <br /> <br />Discussion on video recording of minutes, how to handle the auditing of <br />claims. (suggestion 9:00 til 10:00 on claim day be to review claims and <br />start video recording of meeting at 10:00 a.m.) No action was taken today. <br /> <br />Leslie suggested some County Board Members plan to attend the Nebraska Tax <br />Research Council annual meeting in Lincoln on November 17th 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Board Member_Reports: <br /> <br />Quandt: Attended the Election Commissioner Committee meeting, 2 meetings <br />with the Public Defender, Courthouse construction meeting and <br />has Midland Area on Aging meeting on Thursday. <br /> <br />Rosenkotter: Attended meetings oIl_CQtlrthouse construction, Legislative <br />meeting in Lincoln on LB\137~r Air Regulation Transportation <br />meeting, two Juvenile & Paternity meetings, Youth Violence meeting, <br />NACO annual meeting in Omaha and the Election Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Stelk: Attended meeting for Youth vio~en_~eL~: NAGO annual meeting in Omaha, <br />has Midland Area on Aging meeting Thursday and Convention & Visitors <br />Bureau meeting on Thursday. <br /> <br />Landis: Attended CNCS Board meeting in Loup C~ty; Pipeline; meeting this <br />morning at City Hall, Youth Violence meeting, NACO Annual meeting <br />in Omaha and spoke at the Sunrise Rotary meeting this morning. <br /> <br />Leslie: Attended NACO Annual meeting in Omaha, Federal Highway Commission <br />meeting in Lincoln, have written modifications and will have copy <br />made for each board member for discussion next week. <br /> <br />Abernethy: Attended Public Defender's meeting, NACO annual meeting in Omaha, <br />Youth Violence, Courthouse Construction meeting and the Merit Comm- <br />ission meetings. <br /> <br />Meeting was recessed at 11:55 A.M. Returned to regular session at 1:30 p.m. <br />Present were Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, and Rosenkotter. <br />Absent was Stelk. <br /> <br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director, introduced Pete Picard, Assistant Federal <br />Highway Administration. He requested County Board approval for Dan Hostler <br />to serve as County Road Advisor to Region 7, Federal Highway Administration. <br />He presented letter of recommendation from the Nebraska Association of County <br />Engineers, County Highway Superintendents and County Surveyors for Dan to <br />be appointed. There are 4 States involved in Region 7, Nebraska, Kansas, <br />Iowa and Missouri. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Leslie to approve the nomination of <br />Dan Hostler as County Road Advisor""-Region 7 Federal Highway Administration. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Landis,Leslie, Quandt and Rosenkotter voted yes, none <br />voted no, with Stelk absent. <br /> <br />Supervisor Stelk arrived at meeting during discussion on closing portion of <br />Buffalo Road. <br />Dan Hostler's letter of recommendation to close portion of Buffalo Road <br />located Section 2 Township 9, Rante 10, and between Secion 34 & 35, township <br />10, range 10 to the south bank of Platte River, was read. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Quandt to receive letter of recommendation <br />and authorize Hostler to continue with next step to close portion of Buffalo <br />Road. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotterand Stelk <br />voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion on claim audit. Claim for Mid-Plains Center for Professional <br />Services for inmate medical counseling. Corrections Director had recommended <br />not paying until :})TII1iiej-aII)!ount corrected. <br />
