Commence Audit~ of Claims. <br />Hartman made motion and Rosenkotter seconded to accept and issue <br />a warrant for the claims. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, <br />Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Margaret Landis reported on the meeting of the Reuse Committee with <br />Tom Shay. She made a request to also send Andy Baird to the meeting <br />in Indiana May 8 and 9. Hartman made motion and Rosenkotter <br />seconded to send Andy Baird. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, <br />,Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Quandt brought up the proposal to invite previous supervisors <br />to attend one meeting a year. It was suggested to wait until <br />September. <br /> <br />The budget letter that is to be sent to the county officials was <br />discussed. The officials had Ellen Totzke send a letter to the <br />board with their reccommendations. Discussion was held. The <br />board members are to review this and return next week with their <br />suggestions. <br /> <br />The budget freeze was discussed. The state has reccommended a 0% <br />increase-in property tax. Quandt made a suggestion of a total <br />budget freeze. Discussion was held. Hartman made motion and Landis <br />seconded to have a Ot increase on property taxes. The tax asking will <br />be the same as last year. Rosenkotter abstained. Abernethy, Landis,- <br />Leslie, Quandt, Hartmand and Stelk voted yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Recessed at 12:40 P.M. <br /> <br />1:30 P.M. returned to regular session. . Richard Hartman was absent. <br /> <br />Jeff Hayman with the United Teachers Association Cancer Insurance <br />presented to the board a brief explanaton of the insurance this <br />company offers. He requested the boards permission to present this <br />plan to the county employees. It could also go through the payroll <br />deduction plan. Stelk made. .motion and Quandt seconded to have <br />Jeff Hayman with United Teachers Associates 'contact the county <br />employees. Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosehkotter and <br />Stelk voted yes and none voted no. Hartman was absent. <br /> <br />Landis requested that the dollar amount of $7,568,556.00 be iused-; <br />for(the tax asking for this year. <br /> <br />Jerry Janulewicz and Richard Hartman are the _negotlatln?~team for <br />the CWA and F. 0 . P . ~- <br /> <br />Jerry Janulewicz presented the claim for the park replacement land. <br />Landis madembtion and Leslie seconded to approve the claim for the <br />park replacement land. Abernethy,.Landis, Leslie, Rosenkotter and <br />Stelk all voted yes. Quandt voted no. Hartman was absent. <br /> <br />2:00 P.M. The appeal for ~eneral assistance denial for Steve <br />Christensen. from the Department of Social Services. Ethel Rasmussen <br />from the Department of Social Services presented Exhibit #A <br />containing the case information on Mr. Christensen. This contained <br />the regulations that are required to be met by an applicant in order <br />to attain assistance. Mrs. Rasmussen briefly reviewed theinformation <br />concerning the case~. It was stated that Mr Christensen had received <br />a check for a land payment in the amount of $6,539.00. He could not <br />account for $1,500.00. The Department of Social Services has to <br />work with the client to help them prevent futher assistance. It was <br />determined that Mr. Christensen did not meet the requirements. <br />Mr. Christensen was to obtain work he was only seeking parttime <br />employment.
