Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no. The homested exemption for Roberta Collins was <br />reviewed. The 458B form was returned to the County Assessor Jan <br />Pelland but the requirement of needing a mobility device was not <br />marked, so it was rejected. The rejection notice was mailed to <br />Roberta March 31. Ms. Collins was contacted that she could <br />appear before the Board again but she declined. Kathy Lange- <br />Morrisey was contacted but it would be left up to the Board of <br />Equalization to make a decision. Even if the Hall County Board <br />authorized the exemption the tax commissioner could override it. <br />Pellands recommendation, according to law, was to deny the request. <br />Landis made motion and Hartman seconded to deny the homestead <br />exemption. Hartman, Landis, Leslie, and Quandt voted yes. <br />Abernethy, Rosenkotter and Stelk voted no. Quandt made a motion <br />and Stelk seconded to return to regular session. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted <br />yes and none voted no. <br /> <br />Jan Pelland County Assessor submitted the tax correction notices <br />to the Board requesting that the Chairman initial these. Quandt <br />made motion and Hartman seconded to accept the tax correction <br />notices and have the Chair sign. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Qunadt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. <br /> <br />Doris Mason, County Treasurer submitted the public tax sale <br />certificates. Letters were mailded to the owners and 34 out of <br />the 95 responded and the taxes were paid. Hartman made motion <br />and Setlk seconded to accept the report. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Landis, Leslie, Quandt, Rosenkotter and Stelk all voted yes and <br />none voted no. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />The following communications were read: <br /> <br />~ James Exon - Thanked the Board for their support of a <br />balanced budget <br /> <br />Janis McKenzie - Letter concerning LB418, she stated that it <br />is on General File. <br /> <br />President Bill Clinton - Letter regarding unfunded federal <br />mandates. <br />Ronald Fields - Letter in regard to the water treatment at <br />CAAP. <br />
