Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: Motion by Landis, seconded by Quandt to accept and place on <br />file the Communications received today. Chairman Stelk requested copies of <br />Rust Environment & Infrastructure Inc, Silver Creek Flooding Study, Cornhusker <br />Army Ammunition Plant, Grand Island to Judy Arends, Tom Baxter, Daryl Baxter, <br />Lloyd Mader and the Merrick County Board. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Long, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: Ellen Merrill County Board Assistant had <br />provided written progress report. Had letter to State Roads Department <br />Director Allen Abbott for signatures. (Letter was signed to be mailed) <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: <br /> <br />Quandt - attended the Weed Authority Meeting last night, they eliminated the <br />Assistant Weed Superintendent position. Superintendent is doing the <br />work. Quandt also questioned the vacation and sick leave pay policy. <br /> <br />Landis - None <br /> <br />Hartman - None will attend Health Department Board meeting tonight. <br /> <br />Long - Attended the Grand Island Economic Development Board meeting. <br />Abernethy - none <br />Leslie none <br /> <br />Stelk - reported Hartman's term on Health Department Board ended June 30, 1996 <br />She may place herself on the Health Department Board. (No action taken) <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Long had received letter from Jim & Stephanie Sloggett in regard to water <br />problems on Bronco Road. Referred to Public Works Committee for study <br />and recommendation. <br /> <br />Quandt - Discussed the new vehicles and equipment purchased by County. Keep a <br />record of mileage and hours of use. Should adopt policy for a once a <br />year review by Board Members and would be used when trading vehicles or <br />purchasing new vehicles or equipment. <br /> <br />Discussion on the Work Study Session to be held today at 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Landis to consider all applications received <br />for Keno funds. <br />Discussed the May 30th deadline: and three applications were received <br />after that date. Motion was approved at March 19th Board meeting. <br />Recessed at 11:37 a.m. and returned to session at 11:44 a.m. <br />Question was called for motion on the floor. Hartman, Landis, and Quandt <br />voted yes, Abernethy, Leslie, Long and Stelk voted no. Motion failed on <br />3 yes, 4 no vote. <br /> <br />Chairman recessed the meetiI)g at 11: 55 a. m. to return to session at 1: 30 p. m. <br /> <br />Returned to session at 1:30 P.M. Work Study Session was called to order by <br />Chair Tammie Stelk. Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard <br />Hartman, Margaret Landis, Robert Leslie, Huey Long, Gary Quandt and Tammie <br />Stelk. None were absent. <br /> <br />Board Assistant Ellen Merrill and County Clerk Marjorie Haubold were present. <br /> <br />Reviewed sixteen application request for Keno funds from Hall County. Each <br />were allowed 5 minutes to speak to the Board Members. <br />
