<br />91 ~ '1/# <br /> <br />received copies of the report. Landis made a motion and Quandt <br />seconded to close the public hearing. Landis withdrew her motion <br />and Quandt withdrew his second. Abernethy explained that the <br />legislature requires counties to attempt to consolidate offices <br />and services under the passage of LB 1085. This had to be <br />accomplished by December 30, 1997. The audit committee <br />consisting of Irene Abernethy, Pam Lancaster, Margaret Landis, <br />Huey Long, Brad Fegley and Jerry Janulewicz complied the report. <br />The minutes of the meetings are included in the report. The <br />report will be submitted to the state before December 30. Landis <br />made a motion and Quandt seconded to close the public hearing. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Landis made a <br />motion and Quandt seconded to accept and place on file the Report <br />on Reduction of Property Taxes Through consolidation of County <br />Offices and Services. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />TORT CLAIMS FOR EARL MITCHELL: The two tort claims were received <br />by Hall County and referred to the insurance company and they <br />have investigated the claims. The insurance company recommended to <br />deny both claims. Landis made a motion and Quandt seconded to <br />deny the two tort claims from Earl Mitchell. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />REVIEW TRUELL CONTRACT: There has been a decline in the number of <br />cases handled under the contract and it needs to be reviewed. <br />Jerry Janulewicz talked to Jim Truell and he agreed to <br />renegotiate. Landis made a motion and Quandt seconded to have <br />Jerry Janulewicz work with Jim Truell to renegotiate the <br />contract. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt <br />and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Landis made a <br />motion and Quandt seconded to refer the bids to the Public Works <br />Committee and Public Works Director. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. The committee will meet today to <br />review the bids. <br />
