Landis stated as leaders the county can't remain neutral. <br />Hartman stated the board should vote yes or no. <br /> <br />Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to stand opposing a <br />state prison to be located in Hall County. Stelk stated she had <br />received calls and the people were split and some were still <br />undecided. Today there were new faces with new ideas in the <br />audience. If the application is submitted, Hall County may not be <br />selected and even if they are a public hearing will be held at <br />that time. Lancaster stated she polled people in her area and <br />the results were almost equal. There are still a lot of <br />unanswered questions on cost and site. Vote on the motion to <br />oppose a state prison in Hall County, Hartman, Landis and Quandt <br />voted yes and Abernethy, Lancaster, Long and Stelk all voted no. <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />10:15 a.m. Break <br /> <br />10:25 a.m.Returned to session <br /> <br />Wayne Sasges, 1703 Columbia Circle, stated he felt the board made <br />a good decision on the prison issue. This will prolong the <br />investigation process. <br />
