<br />97;:: .3 7'-/ <br /> <br />LOCAL EMERGENCY DISASTER DECLARATION: Emergency Management <br />Director Howard Maxon informed the County Board that there is <br />available a FEMA disaster application to reimburse local <br />governments for the costs incurred from the snow storm. Hall <br />Co~n~y public worksl ~he city of Grand Island public works and <br />utlllty departmentl Vlllage of Doniphan and Wood River could <br />apply. Quandt made a motion and Stelk seconded to authorize the <br />Chair to sign the Local Emergency Disaster Declaration. <br />AbernethYl Hartmanl Lancasterl Landisl Longl Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />LOCAL EMERGENCY/DISASTER DECLARATION <br /> <br />The State of Nebraska has suffered from a severe winter storm that <br />occurred on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, 1997. This storm <br />caused severe damage to pUblic and private proper~y, disruption o~ <br />utility service, and endangerment of health and safety of the citizens <br />of Nebraska including ~he citizens of Hall County, within the <br />emergency/disaster area. <br /> <br />The County of Hall's costs incurred with response to this severe winter <br />storm include the following: <br /> <br />Snow R emov a 1 . . . . . . . _ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . - . - . -. $ 1 7 ,897 .40 <br /> <br />Total $17,897.40 <br /> <br />Therefore. the Ha'l County Board of Supervisors has declared a state of <br />emergency authorized under Nebraska State Statute R.R.S. 81-829.50 on <br />behalf of Hall County and will execute for and on behalf of Hall <br />County, the expenditure of emergency funds from all available sources. <br />the invoking of mutual aid agreementQ, the application to the State of <br />Nebraska for assistance from the Governor's Emergency Fund and any <br />other resources necessary in the fulfillment of the eoard's duties. <br /> <br />/. <br />Chair, Board of <br />County of Ha 11 <br />;t7~ ( [/"/1 Ii {.. ,<f /ft?7 <br />Date <br /> <br /> <br />WITNESS my hand and ~he sea1 of <br />my office this ~ day of e~ <br />1) .
