<br />Cj7~-137 <br /> <br />KENO FUND APPLICATION: Rus Johnson, manager of the Hall County <br />Airport and Roy Anderson with the Hall County Airport Authority Board <br />spoke to the board on the improvements that have been made to the <br />airport. The County Board will review the keno applications after <br />May 31. <br /> <br />DAVE BARBER QUARTERLY REPORT: Dave Barber, Regional Planning Director <br />presented copies of his report to the board members. He stated his <br />office has updated the Hall County Zoning Regulations manuel. Mr. <br />Barber was thanked for his report. Stelk made a motion and Landis <br />seconded to place the quarterly report from Dave Barber on file. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried." <br /> <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Mark Young, attorney for the Family Violence <br />Coalition, stated that they objected to the executive session <br />on behalf of the Coalition. Janulewicz stated that an executive <br />session can be held for the protection of public interest or for <br />the protection of an individual. Mr. Young stated that the Family <br />Violence Coalition is not interested in another investigation and <br />is satisfied with the results. He suggested that the new sheriff <br />could do an internal investigation. Discussion was held. The <br />board would like a report from Mr. Lahners. Hartman made a motion <br />and Lancaster seconded to contact Mr. Lahners and have him make a <br />report to the County Board in executive session. Abernethy, <br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes <br />and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Break 10:15 a.m. <br /> <br />Returned to session 10:25 a.m. <br /> <br />Chairman Long stated that the executive session failed for lack <br />of a motion and second. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT OF SHERIFF POSITION: Quandt made a motion and Hartman <br />seconded to put off the appointment of a sheriff until the board <br />receives a report from Ron Lahners. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WILDROSE RANCH: Dan Hostler stated that <br />this is a renewal agreement with Wildrose Ranch. Hartman made a <br />motion and Landis seconded to approve the maintenance agreement <br />with Wildrose Ranch. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, <br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT QUARTERLY REPORT: Dan Hostler, Public Works <br />Director, presented copies of his quarterly report to the board <br />members and answered questions. Stelk made a motion and Abernethy <br />seconded to accept and place on file the second -quarter report <br />from the Hall County Highway Department. Abernethy, Hartman, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none <br />voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />UPDATE ON SAND BAG PROCEEDURE: Howard Maxon stated he received <br />information on a federal surplus of sand bags that can be purchased <br />for 10~ each. Maxon stated he felt he had an adequate supply but <br />these could be sold for private use. Hartman made a motion and <br />Stelk seconded to purchase 10,000 sand bags and charge the Road <br />Department budget. Discussion was held on clarifying the policy <br />regarding private use. Hartman withdrew his motion and Stelk <br />withdrew her second. Mr. Maxon will bring an updated policy to <br />the board April 29. Lancaster made a motion and Hartman seconded <br />to purchase 20,000 sand bags and charge the Road Department budget. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />ACCEPT RESIGNATION FROM MR. BREMER HALL COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY: <br />Landis made a motion and Quandt seconded to accept the resignation <br />from Mr. Bremer and send a letter thanking him for his services. <br />Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long, Quandt and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Lisa will submit <br />a list of applicants from the Bank of Volunteers when the application <br />period is closed. <br />
