<br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING APRIL 22, 1997

<br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met at 9:00 a.m. from
<br />adjourned session and by published call in the County Board
<br />meeting room, 121 South Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska.
<br />
<br />CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman
<br />Huey Long.
<br />
<br />INVOCATION: Invocation was given by Steve Warringer with
<br />Abundant Life Christian Center.
<br />
<br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was given in unison.
<br />
<br />ROLL CALL: Present on roll call were Irene Abernethy, Richard
<br />Hartman, Pamela Lancaster, Huey Long, Margaret Landis, Gary Quandt
<br />and Tammie Stelk.
<br />
<br />PRESENT: Present were Depty County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz, Dan
<br />Hostler, Road Superintendent,new$ media representatives from Grand
<br />Island Independent and KRGI.
<br />
<br />MINUTES OF APRIL 15 MEETING: Stelk made a motion and Landis
<br />seconded to accept and place on file by consent agenda the minutes
<br />of the April 15 meeting, office reports from Jean Fisher, Register
<br />of Deeds, Hall County Sheriff and Veterans Service Office. Abernethy,
<br />Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and
<br />none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />COUNTY ATTORNEY: Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz was presen-t
<br />and spoke to the board on the AMI asbestos survey that was completed
<br />at the Hall County Health Department. There is asbestos in the
<br />building but it does not pose an immediate health hazard. AMI
<br />has recommend a three-part plan 1) provide all necessary labor and
<br />materials to present Asbestos Awareness Certification Training
<br />to all employees performing housekeeping activities, 2) provide a
<br />question and answer session and handouts to employees and 3) assist
<br />in developing an asbestos management plan. Jerry Janulewicz
<br />recommended to accept AMI Group's proposal. The cost would be
<br />$1,250.00 plus $45.00 per employee. Stelk made a motion and Quandt
<br />seconded to accept the AMI Group proposal and pay the fees from
<br />the Inheritance Fund. Abernethy, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Long,
<br />Quandt and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Chairman Long called for public participation
<br />and no one responded.
